I wont pick becuase I will be too biased. But, besides Hutch, I think any one of the 7 teams can win it. I think it will be a wide open field and who knows, with a couple of bounces, turnovers, great plays, 1-2 will be the difference in many of these games.
As far as I can tell, including Hutch, all seem to be peaking so it should be a great one...

how can anyone think that LF is going to do anything at state? who do they play again? o yeah...greenway, prior lake..PRAIRIE CENTRE(you can say PC and you just assume bad hockey and you'd be correct). I know that LF beat virginia and the beginning of the year and congrats to that, but LF just doesnt have anything other than the big man. And who wouldn't rack up points against people with the skill level of a pee-wee team? Did the goalie go down everytime or lift his stick on every shot? Most likely. Good luck to all teams, but LF won't win, guarunteed.

I think I know a fair amount about high school hockey. But not as much as any of the head coaches in the state, not to mention the head coaches of the state tournament teams. They voted to give LF the number one seed which means they must have some respect for what they accomplished all year. I would like to think that they would not give it to a team who has only one good player. They beat more than one good team this year. Haters need to get over it, they are a good team who has to be taken seriously. They have already beat the #2 seed in the tounament this year.contraforce415 wrote:how can anyone think that LF is going to do anything at state? who do they play again? o yeah...greenway, prior lake..PRAIRIE CENTRE(you can say PC and you just assume bad hockey and you'd be correct). Lourdes personally would be great but you've gotta go with Little Falls accompanied by the points leader Ben Hanowski and one of the top goaltenders in the state Michael Sperl the good to go to win this.
Hutch doesn't have a chance, they might upset but won't be able to do it time and time again.
Breck has been a surprise this season but with teams like Warroad and SCC they won't be able to keep it.
SCC will be very interesting, strong defensely solid goaltending, maybe the Hill Murray team of last year.
Maho. oh man, they will be the team to watch in this tourney. With the win over STA it messed up my State Final for Class A guess with a STA/Little Falls rematch of last years 1st game.
Not much to say about Viriginia, I'm from the south what can I say, too far up north for me.
i personally like how the some different teams on in the tourney this year, makes things interesting and with the reigning champs out of the tourney it makes this state tourament up for grabs to anyone.

any team that goes undefeated, no matter who they play, deserves respect. i will agree with that, but i just don't think they're gunna do much, but if they do they do. they beat virginia 1-0 who isnt ranked if you wannna go that route and then cathedral 5-4 who's 2, but this was at the beginning of the year. all people know that teams change throughout the year and even if LF has more than just ONE player it'll show in state, but i'm thinking that they already peaked a while ago. they didn't have much momentum coming in only beating ff 5-2 which was a closer game than the score dictates and then beating alex 3-2. they did win tho, that's all that matters, but i believe that momentum coming in is a HUGE thing and for a last little while they've been playing just to get by and get the win.warriors41 wrote: I think I know a fair amount about high school hockey. You say momentum matters? Sure it was a closer game then some imagined but how can you possibly say that beating a section rival for the 10th straight time (THIRD time in the same season) 3-2 in OT with a packed crowd making the MAC sound twice as loud as the metrodome and going to state for the 5th straight year ISN'T momentum?contraforce415 wrote:any team that goes undefeated, no matter who they play, deserves respect. i will agree with that, but i just don't think they're gunna do much, but if they do they do. they beat virginia 1-0 who isnt ranked if you wannna go that route and then cathedral 5-4 who's 2, but this was at the beginning of the year. all people know that teams change throughout the year and even if LF has more than just ONE player it'll show in state, but i'm thinking that they already peaked a while ago. they didn't have much momentum coming in only beating ff 5-2 which was a closer game than the score dictates and then beating alex 3-2. they did win tho, that's all that matters, but i believe that momentum coming in is a HUGE thing and for a last little while they've been playing just to get by and get the win.warriors41 wrote: I think I know a fair amount about high school hockey. IMO that's the definition of momentum. I would take that over a 5-1 or similar win any day...
LF does play a light schedule, but they have been knocked out of the tourney by the eventual champion the last 2 years. They didn't get blown out in either of those games. Soley based on that I think they are going to be tough to beat.
I think the champ is coming from the other side of the bracket though, SCC or Warroad. Go SCC!

mnwild09, yes little falls is on the 5th go around to the tourney, but they have yet to finish better than 5th place and this year will be no different. They have 1 line and are overrated. The 1 seed came because they are unbeaten. The proof will be in the pudding this week so they better come ready to eat it
All they have to do is beat Virginia in order to secure a place better than 5th.Midnight1 wrote:mnwild09, yes little falls is on the 5th go around to the tourney, but they have yet to finish better than 5th place and this year will be no different.
