Stillwater has no chance against Hill, unless they play way better than they did against Johnson.

This Hill team that all of you are discounting just beat ST. Thomas a few short weeks ago and is the odds on favorite to win the section.

I will take Hill in a slower than normal matchup 3-2.

People in White Bear need to realize that this isn't a very talented team this year. Normally they have a couple div. I type players and a bunch of junior talent type players. I don't believe I have seen 1 player that looks to be that type out of the seniors. I have watched this group of players for 3 years and talent wise it just isn't there. You can try and blame the coach but after some of your earlier comments Barry frankly what you have to say doesn't carry much merit to me.
I would love to hear what level you scout for? I know I've asked this in the past and never got an answer. I'm guessing you were a boy/girl SCOUT who played HOCKEY. Looking back on all your posts, it appears that most of your comments fall into WBL threads. Are you a special scout for this team or something?

You stated, "Hill has 5-7 potential division I players". Give me a break. Zepeda was by far their best player and I don't know if he is even big enough to play D1. Castro in my opinion has the size and skill to maybe get there.

Now for WBL, you make the comment "I don't believe I have seen 1 player that looks to be that type (D1 or Junior type) out of the seniors" Well, for your information, two seniors were asked last night to join Junior teams.
We all can live in fantasy worlds and make up really neat usernames. I think my next one will be "NHL General Manager". [/b]

White Bear should just forfeit the December game now since they'll probably get beat once again.

Lowell wont go far unless he learns to pass the puck more and not try to dangle around two guys at once.

10? Hey, what a coincidence. That's just one more than the total number of Hill-Murray's losses on the season.

E. Weiss got asked to play juniors. Good for him he got robbed this season, Sager told him he would play 50/50 with Owen but that turned into another false promise by the coach. There are plenty of people (including me) who think he was the best goalie on this team.

Wink

And it's 13 less than the number of HM trips to state - 23.

Juniors as in USHL? Or juniors as in Junior B hockey?

Let's just say that if Captain Jimmy gave you a stock tip, I would not rush out to buy.

I could see three seniors from this team invited to the NAHL: Lowell, Swanson, & Putney. While Jimmy will likely jump all over this one, Collette has been talked to by at least one NAHL team. Swanson could even do a year in U18 given his birthday. I believe Weiss could as well.

Goalie scouts already criticize the number of games MN HS starters play, and they sure as hell will not go based on about 5 games. Like a lot of other kids, Weiss could have been invited to the annual NAHL fundraiser (otherwise known as tryouts). There may be a younger goalie somewhere in MN high school that will feature on a USHL futures draft, or possibly taken (like a Joe Howe), but not a senior with limited play. For those who think that MN is the center of the hockey universe, I would encourage you to scan Junior team rosters. About 10% of the goalies are from MN.

Even the best goalies from MN do not make it through the USHL and have lost verbal commitments. Some goalies do not do well one year or in a certain situations, but well in others. Kangaas tore it up last year, look at this year. Jeff Frazee was a disaster at UM, but played in the AHL all-star game this year.

Unlike Jimmy, I wish all of these kids the best whether it be future hockey or college.

Good point. Either team would have had their hands full with Eden Prairie, which lost only 3 games all season.

And hey, H-M isn't even the worst team to make it to the state tournament this year. That distinction belongs to Rochester Century at 14-12-2. Among the 12 losses was a dismal 7-1 loss to WBL early in the season.

But this year, Century is wearing Cinderella's glass slipper!

Hey sachishi, get off your high horse and go away. WBL beat hill in regulation last Wednesday, but the refs once again chose to favor Hill. We were the better team, and we deserved to win.

We scored with 2.5 seconds remaining. There was no whistle. They even let the time run out and then declared this so called "net movement"? BS. You take a look at these pictures and tell me a WBL player ran into the net BEFORE the goal.

Either way, we got screwed. There was not even the slightest bit of consideration that we had really won.

A big thank you to the refs for ruining our year.

Yes, that'd be Ryan Wolter. Who hit the net AFTER we scored, and won.

Looks like you're about to get banned - whoops.

They were taken by an employee of a guy who owns a photography studio that was stationed there to photograph the game.
