Dream Section?

Post by gopherhockey21 »

If you could put any teams from the state into one section, which ones what would it be? (max 11)

1. Virginia
2. Edina
3. Duluth East
4. Hibbing
5. Academy of Holy Angels
6. Eden Prairie
7. Warroad
8. St. Thomas Academy
9. St. Cloud Cathedral
10. Roch Lourdes
11. Blaine

Wouldn't that be a good section tourney to watch?

Unoriginal idea, they did this along time ago. Its called a one class state tournament.

I fail to see how a section with 10 of the state's top teams, over a handful of whose should be in the state tourney, is a dream section. That would mean the MSHSL should do something to get talent spread out.

It'd be even better as a state tourney rather than a section tourney.

I thought of a good idea for a new all state 1 class tournament......u devide the state into regions like the ncaa tourny......n then seed em like 1-8 in each region.....that would be exciting!

A new 7AA:

Duluth East
Cloquet
Grand Rapids
Hermantown
Duluth Marshall
Virginia
Hibbing
International Falls

Go back to the old days of alternating the section semis and finals between Hibbing Memorial Arena and the DECC. I miss the ritual of hockey followed by Sammy's Pizza on Howard St.!

a dream section sounds like a dumb idea... you must go to mayo  a dream tourney would be intense but then there wouldn't be a chance upsets in sections and thats high school hockey... plus you're missing some of the best teams in the state in that "dream" section of yours

So do I. Throw Denfeld in there too! Proctor can go to 7A and central MN can have its own section back (5A).

I guess the sarcasm escaped you...

I made my post ridiculous to try and match the stupidity of having teams from all over the state in the same SECTION.

This is the best damn idea ever... I think its stupid how you have northern cities teams in 7AA... It makes no sense at all if for no other reason than how far they have to travel for sections...
