1997 Tier 1 fire Hockey club.

The fire beat Edina Green 3 out of 3 times. Edina Green was first in state almost all year.

Aren't at least a few of the Fire players PeeWee eligible or are they all squirt 97s?

Big deal. Why would you brag about that? You are a AAA team and you beat a squirt team, way to go.

I think the reference is to Edina PWB1 Green, who was #1 all year, not Squirt A Green

Its hard to really compare these programs

Not too take anything away from either team...
The 97 Fire only beat the Edina White team that was ranked 3-5 all year, by one goal.

Remember the 97 Fire are a handpicked team from all over not just the 16-30 kids from any organization...most selected for position specific spots. Association based B1 teams are not afforded the ability to choose kids based on their positions.

Hypothetically, handpick the best 97 kids from all associations and play the Fire then you have a comparison.

Also the Fire has phenomenal goalie...who just happens to be the 97 Blades goalie...arguably one of the best US based 97 teams period.

It doesn't matter what you call Fire 97 - Sq or Pw. They all are born in 1997 or younger. They are playing Edina teams with probably some 95's on them so we are talking kids almost two years older. If you have seen Fire 97's they are not the biggest guys to begin with.

Their goalies (both) are good, but may be not that super-duper great as somebody was posing here. Check out myhockeyrankings.com under USA Peewee AAA to see their scores and where they rank in US. Note their last 3 games and how many goals those super goalies let in...
