4AA Hill-Murray (16-9-1) vs. W.B.L. (14-10-2) March 4th

I was watchin the Hill and North game yesterday. Hill looked really good the whole game and pretty much dominated. However I did not get a chance to watch the White Bear game but if Hill plays like they did in the third period of the North game, they will come out victorious.

i am in no way making fun of WBL...but can someone answer for me if they have ever won a first round game in the history of the state tournament...i heard someone on this forum once saying either they have never won a single game in the state tourney, or have never won a first round game..could someone expand on this for me. thanks...just curious.

Ooops.. my bad, hockeyfan.. I wasn't clear enough in my post. I MEANT TO SAY... a former WBL A Bantam player, WHO IS CURRENTLY PLAYING DEFENSE FOR HILL MURRAY, will accidentally tip in a shot...

Even though I have a journalism degree, I am at a loss for the right words in the way I want to say this, so I will seek the help of my pals Bodyshots or Medley or any other fine WBL fan...

I am trying to point out that having Schultzie deflect a shot to score on his own team will be the sweetest vindication, justification I can think of..

Don't harsh on Schultzie! He is a great kid. Sure, it's a shame he's a Pioneer, but he's still a great kid! And no, I'm not his dad!

It is true that White Bear has never won a first round game at the State Tournament.

The only team from White Bear to ever advance past the quarterfinals was White Bear Mariner in 1982 (when there were two high schools in the city). Mariner ended up finishing 2nd to Edina.

White Bear needs to play good hockey all 3 periods to beat Hill; unfortunately, that doesn't happen very often. But I think with the rivalry and what's at stake here they'll be able to pull it off.

Despite my shots at White Bear Lake in the posts above, I do not believe Hill-Murray will win this game. They are not the same team since the dismissals. They lacked the scoring punch of the last few years even before January 9th. Two of those guys were headed to 25 goal seasons. They have talent but are young and inexperienced. They have some really strong d-men, but a 10th grader in nets who has been inconsistent. Playoff hockey is much more intense than they have experienced so far. I'd like to see the streak continue, but it wouldn't be much of a rivalry if White Bear doesn't get a win once in a while.

No where in my post did I ever say you cant post on here or make comments. I just said that I hope hill wins so that WBL's season will be over and in my hope, WBL fans wont post on here till next year.

Hill was unimpressive in their win against North. North took two dumb penalties (both deserved to be called) that opened up the game for Hill. This is a rivalry game so I'm sure Hill will play their best, but White Bear looks like the better team.
