Section 6A Final Little Falls vs. Alexandria 3/4/09
What say you?? Little Falls undefeated record vs the team that has given them the toughest games this year!
LF came out slow against Fergus Falls and ran into some solid tending and D but put the game away on a mishandled shot from the blue line.
Alex looked solid against a Sartell team that many predicted to upset them in the Semi's
Who wins this one to go to the Dance??

I have to go with my hometown. But the way they played last night don't be surprised to see Alex take this one. Watched the first period of Alex's game and they looked good. They have a good chance to top of the Flyers, and make it to the X. Little Falls will have to play their best to beat a great team to do anything with their undefeated streak to make it out of the MAC next Thursday.
Red ice sells hockey tickets.
I heard Alex looked good against Sartell and most teams do look good when they are given 25 min on the power play.
LF came out slow in a section semi-final against a team that they whomped on last game, but LF will not come out slow in a section final that means everything. It will be a great game and one for the ages, but LF will driving down to the X on a bus while Alex will be spectating and buying their own tickets.
LF 4
Alex 2

Little Falls wins of course. Let's remember that even though Fergus Falls is on a DOWN year, they did improve towards the end of the season. And Fergus Falls and Little Falls have a history in this section.scarface wrote:What say you?? Little Falls undefeated record vs the team that has given them the toughest games this year!

Little Falls will come out and play one of their best games of the year against one of their toughest opponents of the year(something the Otters were not), and possibly put it into running time.

Running Time. What is this Saturday Night Live??? There is NO WAY LF scores 6 unanswered goals against Hemingway and Alex.defense wrote:Little Falls wins of course. yes watching from last night, ALexandria can play with anyone. Alexandria's top two lines didnt touch the ice more then 2 times in that 3rd period. Saying that score could have easly been 8-1 with all the cheap penaltys Sartell had. While Little falls this whole season has played their top line as often as possible even in running time games. This is why HANO has the point record. I have Alex in this one 4-2 they have more depth.
I am gonna have to agree with MNCHAMPS. Based off of the games last night Alex looked like the better team. Although Little Falls has proven they can beat alex in the regular season things change in playoffs. The teams that do the best in the post season are the teams that have depth. Alex has three solid lines where little falls is carried by one line and one player for that matter. If both teams play the way they did last night alex should take this one. Especially the way Sperl was flopping all over the ice last night Fergus could have easily had a few more goals.
This should be a great game!! Alexandria is definitely a team worthy of a section final and LF is trying to finish off a great season and 5 year run.
If I am not mistaken, the Flyers have taken the last 9 games against the Cards. Both games this season were tight, one goal games..... the game in Alex could have been a win for Alexandria if they were able to convert on a couple of scoring chances (bouncing pucks and missed nets). LF did seem to control the play in the 3rd, so the depth could not have been that much in favor of Alex. In LF (where no one has won in 3+ years) the Cards put up a great show..... one thing to notice about this game is it was early and LF was still in undisciplined mode. I think the powerplays were something like 8-1 in favor of the cards. The Flyers have cleaned up their act since then and if they stay out of the box they should be OK.
Both goalies are statistically identical, the scoring is pretty heavy in the Flyers favor (by over 80 goals I think). The experience and poise will tilt to the Flyers while the hunger and enthusiasm will probably be in favor of Alex.
The key for Alexandria will be to score first and play with a lead. The Flyers will not come out like they did against FF and Hemingway will have to be on his game. If the Flyers get on top the pressure and momentum could roll a bit (4 straight section championships and something like a 46-1 record in their last 47 games)
I will go with the Flyers 4-2, but this will be a tense one throughout.
PS-- is it possible for the MAC to NOT have huge puddles of water for the first 2-3 minutes of every period?!?!?!

That's a very good analysis Shins and LF has definitely had the Cards number to this point. I think it will be a CLASSIC section final and hope it lives up to the hype and billing.
Little Falls has a ton of firepower on that first line but other than the section final last year, Alex has played them very close; 2 -1, 4 -3 and 1 - 0.
I think this could be another 1 goal game. Pretty sure that LF isn't overlooking this matchup and also sure that Alex will be highly motivated by the knowledge that they can skate with LF.
Wish I could be there
