I should know this by now but what's happening with the Classic Lake Conf.? Is this the last year? Thought I heard that somewhere...MNHockeyFan wrote:Final: Edina 6, Cloquet/Esko/Carlton 3MNHockeyFan wrote:5-2 with about 10 minutes to go. It'll be Hopkins vs. Edina (two of the five Classic Lake teams) in tomorrow's first semifinal.

Maybe 7 sections and a back door 8th play-in for the runners up would be the solution like the boys had MANY years ago...hockeyfan#4 wrote:I agree great statement!!! And congratulations to all the TEAMS in the tournament!brookyone wrote:Good post.nmnhockeydad wrote:I have grown a bit tired of the bashings of the underdogs of the state tournament. Everyone of these teams bust their butts all year with the hope of making it to the State Tournament. Well then you ask how fair is it to Roseau (I use Roseau as an example but you could put any highly ranked team here) when a lesser quality team comes down to the show and gets beat badly. Get over it! Win your section and get to the tournament. It is not set up for #2 to go, so win and you reap the rewards. Just in case anyone thinks that I am a parent of one of the teams that made it, I am a parent of a team that was highly ranked and didn't make it. Still would not want to see it any other way.

Two classes started in 2001-2 I believe?Nostalgic Nerd wrote:She was a fiesty one during her time as a player. I only saw her play once, and she didn't take to losing too well in the Roseville championship game.MNHockeyFan wrote:Slominski shares state memories

Yes, the Classic Lake will be no more. Armstrong has already been admitted to the Northwest Suburban, the other four (Edina, Hopkins, Minnetonka and Wayzata) are looking for a new home. It may come down to the MSHSL having to place them in a conference.ghshockeyfan wrote:I should know this by now but what's happening with the Classic Lake Conf.? Is this the last year? Couldn't they still have 8 Sections? There are still the same number of teams. And teams from the same conference are in different sections for the playoffs anyway. No?ghshockeyfan wrote:Maybe 7 sections and a back door 8th play-in for the runners up would be the solution like the boys had MANY years ago...hockeyfan#4 wrote:I agree great statement!!!
