Hopefully Century is more disiplined in the playoffs than they were on Thursday against Mayo. Otherwise I don't see them making it past the first round.DmanDad1980 wrote:Very interesting looking at the possible Cross town rivalries in 1AA semis...CoachHookom wrote:1AA

I think any of 6 teams can win this section but as far as doing well at state.
I think teams that I have seen compete pretty well with top teams.
Mayo vs Apple Valley and vs a very physical Century team.
Lakeville South vs Apple Valley Eden Prairie
Century vs Fargo South Duluth East
Lakeville North vs Eden Prairie
tournaments mean hot goaltending and I think clearly the
best three
are Matt Arentz Lakeville North Jordan Yaggy Rochester Mayo and I think
the sophomore at Century is getting better and better....
To put three games together you need goaltending.
Good Luck to all the boys

i would pick century or south to win it. at thispoint i would say south because centurys best scorer may have a concution
however for the next 2 year jm will comeout of section one they didnt have agood year BUT 5 out of thier top 6 forwordswere sophmores and 2 or there 4 D were sophmores also there goalie (best sophmore inthe state no lie). also has 3 kids on theA team ready to steo into those 3 spots. this team will go to state netx year and be in the title game the year after

John Marshall in the state title game? Now I have officially heard it all. Maybe back in the 70's or early 80's, but today? - No. Time and time again we hear that Rochester has FINALLY got a good team. Each year the theory is debunked when they play a true top 10 team. I think the first time I heard this was back in '94 when JM was off to a great start (9-0 ...I think they were). We went down to their Kiwanis tournament and thumped them 9-3 in front of the hometown crowd.rockets4 wrote:i would pick century or south to win it. at thispoint i would say south because centurys best scorer may have a concution

I'd love to see Rochester put forth a great team. Lord knows they have the talent across their 4 teams to do it. Perhaps the problem is they have too many high schools for their population (100k) and their teams get saturated with mediocre players. I know, I know, you say well what about Duluth? They have 4 high schools and East always seems to put a good team on the ice. I've heard that the good players leave the other teams to East... and they aren't affiliated with a conference and schedule games with the states top teams.
The jury is back ... the verdict is in ... and the answer is !!!! I don't know, any ideas??????
