Shootout in WCHA?

Post by gopherhockey21 »

With most of the other conferences having shootouts to decide winners after OT, why doesn't the WCHA have the shootout?

Not sure. I hope they adopt it soon. No more ties!

Without a doubt they should adopt shootout. The WCHA is a very skilled conference and would be exciting to see some highly skilled players in a shootout, and not have to wait to the NHL.

Currently in the CCHA the game ends in a tie for NCAA purposes, so each team gets a point. The winner of the shoot-out gets two points for league standings only. They also play the overtime as 5-on-5.
