if the games go #1 vs #8, #2 vs #7, #3 vs #6, #4 vs #5 then i predict this.... not even bringing the #9 10 seeds into play.

Mayo

North

Owatonna

Winona

then mayo would play winona and north would play owatonna

Mayo

North

Section Finals

Mayo 5-3 en Whitney 4 goals

This should be a cake walk for the Little Sisters of the Blind....There are only 3 teams (Mayo, Century and Winona) with winning records. L'ville North with a record of 7-17 the 2 seed...are you kidding me???? This section is seriously lacking. And before you bring up L'villes in the Lake Conference argument, that conference was extremely weak this year with the exception of EP and Jefferson. I believe that if either of them had played in a different conference, things would have been different for them.

I like the chances MaYo has this year at getting to state. It will not be short of drama and excitement at the Rec Center though in the Semi-finals and the finals. The top 4-6 teams in this section could win on Any Given night. I fear that the lack of depth over the entire section does not bode well for the first round at state. Whichever team makes it to state could ride on the shoulders of a hot goalie and win. In HS hockey and hockey in General, the hot goaltender is the wildcard. When you have it in your hand You are tough to beat.

first of all whitney is over rated he and there whole first line are all over rated. coming out of this section will be one of the lakvills and posinly century at this point i would say south.

thats for this year, next year AND the year after the rockets will come out. they had a down year but they were ALL sophmores. there sophmore class is outstanding and the state will soon find that out

rockets4--
I don't think you get "it." If you read(can you?) "nut's" post he says it is sad because he thinks the current RYHA system is wrong and a JM should never be a #8 seed. He thinks that excluding the occasional down year, the 3 Roch schools and the 2 Lakevilles should make up the top 5 seeds. Understand...Son.

Well done, Rippentrop.

In these tough economic times, I'd like to offer a stock tip: Shares of Cameron Int'l (NYSE symbol CAM) are trading significantly lower today and are projected to decline further in the coming months. Investors are encouraged to immediately liquidate their holdings.

In short: CAM sell now.

CAM might be selling for even lower later this week if the leaders of the company continue to take 4 penalties per game!!!!

All that PP time might cause this young company to fold under the pressure!

Beware of Grossell, Moran, and Theis...their law firm is ready to buy any small company struggling to make ends meet in these tough times.

As for the flip in the seedings next year, lets just see how this season pans out first.

To say that players like whitney, alexander, and fisher are overrated is completely absurd. I have only seen them play a few times this year at the Kiwanis tourney and they were nothing but stellar. The loss to Apple Valley was surely due to their lack of depth. The only reason they are the 1 seed is because of those three guys. Yaggy is decent, but i wouldnt put the fate of Mayo going to state on his shoulders. If you dont recall, Whitney single handedly beat winona this year with something like 4 goals in the first period and 5 for the game, along with prolly an assist or two. I could go on about how this line is 90 percent of their teams scoring but I wont.

Unless Mayo suffers a dramatic upset to Yetzer's underrated #8 rockets or anyone for that matter it will be these three guys representing section 1aa in St. Paul. So I would recommend that instead of ridiculing them on being overrated you hope they do go to state and do well so these dads up in the lake conference will quit commenting in 1aa threads about how their sons get the short end of the stick for playing in a tough conference and section.

upset Winona vs Century

Post by STATEofHoky05 »

Are you people high? talking about an upset between Century and Winona. I understand that this is a down year for the Century program but we must not forget that this is a program that has proven to be successful this time of the year. Also, I need to point out that Century did beat Winona 7-2. I do understand that Century will have a difficult time making it past the following game but we cannot look past the opening rounds.

I agree with your position on comments made by other about Mayo's first line being overated. However, you too have gone to the extreme with your comment that they make up 90% of the team scoring. They actually finished the year with a little more than 55% of the teams overall scoring. In addition, their time on the ice far exceeds other players on the team and a little statistics for you, more scoring opportunities. This is a team sport and as much as I enjoy watching Mayo's first line I am not willing to go that far and say they make up the entire team. Looking forward to seeing them make a solid run for the section title. Good Luck Mayo.
