Section 2AA

Post by dynamicD »

Alright i believe most of the games are done.....so the night before the seedings you have to believe section 2AA will look like this:

1. Jefferson (Only lost once)

2. Edina (After the tough loss today giving them 5 on the year, i just dont see them above Jefferson)

3. AHA (Solid record but got weaker conference and was beat by Edina earlier)

4. Burnsvile (clearly better than the rest of the teams in the section)
5. Chaska (0-4 vs Jefferson and Burnsville)

6. Prior Lake (better record overall although they split series w/ Shakopee)

7. Kennedy (What do you know, they beat Eastview today, their getting hot)

8. Shakopee (Either way, this team was gonna play Jefferson or Edina....pick your poison right???)

Any other opinions???

Well after i merely assumed Edina lost because i had mistaken the score.....i might have to reconsider my seedings as far as #1 and #2. Does the Jefferson team with a weaker of the two schedules but only one loss get the nod over a 4 loss Edina team????

Im gonna stick with my original seedings purely because i don't think you can put Jefferson below Edina when they have 4 losses but other might not think so

Well, we can play the common opponent game...

Opponent BJ score Edina Score
Burnsville 4-2 vs. 8-1 ->Edina
Wayzata 3-2 vs. 4-1, 5-0, 7-0 ->Edina
Eden Prairie 2-1, 2-5 vs. 3-2, 2-1 ->Edina
Grand Rapids 7-0 vs. 4-1 ->Jefferson
Moorhead 4-3 vs. 3-0 ->Edina

Which makes it complicated. I would not want to be the one making this call.

i wonder how this will turn out should be interesting. i think jefferson would benefit more from the 1 seed since i think a game between them and AHA i see as pretty much a coin flip and i really dont see AHA upsetting edina.

now I know that my two cents is worth didly, but I would not want ot be the number 1 seed. I can see Burnsville pl[aying devils advocate and pulling an upset. But if I had my choice. I would like to see:
1) Edina
2) Jefferson
3) AHA
4) Burnsville

and the rest.

I can see AHA / Jefferson as a good game. I will always pick my team and would rather play Edina on the big ice at Mariucci.

I would also say that with the rankings Zamman presents more money will be made. A Jefferson/AHA meeting will be huge; they could play it at the X and sell many seats. Regardless of the seedings I think the team from the 2/3 game has the upper hand going into the finals as they just came off playing tough competition.

Jefferson is going to crush Shako more than 8-0! AHA beat them a month ago and the Stars won 13-1.
I'm guessing the Jags will roll over the Sabers 14-0--atleast!

I dont think Jefferson will blow out Shakopee. Its not their style, if they are smart they will rest their top players for the next two rounds. I expect it 6-1.

my section predictions are as follows:

Jefferson 6
Shakopee 2

AHA 10 (could be anything, will rest best players)
Kennedy 0

Edina 9 (same case as Jefferson, AHA)
Prior Lake 1

Burnsville 4
Chaksa 2

Semis:

Jefferson 4
AHA 3

Edina 5
Burnsville 1

Finals:

Jefferson 5
Edina 4

gophermadman, not much wrong with your overall predictions except that if the top seeds win their first games the second round will be Jefferson v Burnsville and AHA v Edina.

Burnsville and Jefferson played twice. I did miss one, but the score was not 8-1.

11/29 4-2 Jefferson
1/17 7-1 Jefferson

This point is moot now anyways.

With AHA most likely losing Haeg for playoffs, how will the Edina vs. AHA game turnout?

Burnsville vs Jefferson. Edina vs Holy Angels. Personally, I give Burnsville an outside chance to beat Jefferson. Burnsville will play their 1st line against Jefferson till they die. Burnsville 1st line needs to out score Jefferson, it is possible. Jefferson needs to have their goalie to shut down Burnsville's 1st line. Shut down Burnsvilles top players and they should win. Burnsville, unfortunity is not deep in their second and third lines to score. Personally, I would like to see a #2 Jefferson versus a #3 Edina in the Section finals, but AHA will play a great game against Edina. Too tough to call.
