#5 From Apple Valley (Broberg)
#12 From Jefferson (Schubert)

I think these are the top two players in the state in the Bantam B level. It is debatable which one is better so I listed them both.

See now this is a tough subject for me, and this why..... We can sit here and talk about who the best B Bantams are that you think (and in your case maybe the Jefferson kid is your son or something) and the fact of the matter is that there are 15 kids give or take, that are better than that kid just in his community, let alone the entire state, that made the A team. So what are we really trying to prove by talking about this.

The reason I like B Bantams is that its fun to watch teams turn into "TEAMS" by the end of the year, and all those teams that rely on 1 or 2 guys to do all there scoring are left by the dumpster come playoff time.

FYI Ive seen AV and Jefferson Play, and although they both have nice looking "teams", there was not a single player on either team that made me look twice. Im not sure whos tires we are trying to pump, but I just dont care for the discussions about who are the best players in the state until we get up to High school. Just a personal opinion.

Broberg can't skate at all. He can't hit. All he has is a decent shot. Schubert is terrible. He didn't do anything vs. my team. He is really cocky for being such a bad player.

wow kid what team do u play for?? if you even knew schubert you would know that hes the farthest thing from cocky, and i bet hes twice the player you are he works his butt off every game. Broberg is also a good player he controls the game when hes out there. so u can stop making false comments about kids u dont even know cuz i bet you are not even near as good as either of these kids.

best bantam b player

Post by sierramist101011 »

I would have to say #6 from Mahtomedi. I believe his name is Jake Albin but not positive. Great team but got third in playoffs and I think he was a very important part to their season. He finished the season with 15 goals 14 assists 12+ for +/- ana 76 hits. Great player you have gotta see him on A bantam next year because he is only a first year! incredible kid with fantastic talent.

I believe you are Jake's parent, but not positive. :P Only a parent, or a coach, would track the number of hits a player has. In fact, I don't even know of any coaches who keep stats on hits and even if they did wouldn't make them public.

No disrespect, but if he truly is a "incredible kid with fantastic talent", as you say, he surely would've made the Mahtomedi A Bantam this year. Mahtomedi is not Wayzata or Edina, it's not that tough to make the A team.

*EDIT* I checked the Mahtomedi website, he doesn't have 76 "hits" as you claim, it's 76 SOG (shots on goal).

Mahtomedi is Bantam B is far from a great team. They went 11-2-2 in district 2 b2 league. This isn't best b player compaired to competition, it is best B player. This means all B1 players also. This kid probably wouldn't make wayzata blues team.

100% agree with you. wayzata is a great team! i have never been to one of their games but I bet they are really good. Mahtomedi I think shouldnt have done this B2 thing and skip B1 because it is not enough compotition but really Mahtomedi is B1. Although I dont agree with some of their evaluators because some of the kids on the team are horendous its funny to watch. The best on the team are sam koenig, adam boben, jake albin, and jamie rose. Rose has no goals but is one of the best defencemen around. But Jake Albin, fantastic kid. one game left in the season I heard. I'm from stillwater and we will be playing Mahtomedi. all that disagree should come watch and observe.

Sure.....yet you somehow know that this kid was one of the last cut from the A team, huh? How would a parent from Stillwater know the tryout rankings from another association??

I say again, that Mahtomedi A team is weak compared to the rest of the District. A player can not be considered "great" or "fantastic" if they can't make that team. No knock on your kid off the ice, but he is still a B player. Just support and encourage him to have fun, that's the job of a parent...not come on a message board and brag about him.

You don't know anything. Schubert didn't do anything when we played his team.(We beat them). In the same tournament Applevalley was in. We were in their pool and they tied them. Broberg does not controll the play because hes fat and can't do anything but shoot.

haha yeah maybe I am a social parent buddy. I have talked to the coaches and parents from Mahtomedi asking about him. If you are this great guy who knows all the best players around, THEN WHO IS YOUR BEST PLAYER!? I dont recall you saying anything just arguing the fact that this kid is probably better than yours!!!

I will not name a best b player because I have not seen all the players play. However, looking at #6 stats of 15 goals and 14 assists and a +12 against B2 talent it would prove to me that he is not a fantastic talent. If you want to see better talent play I suggest you go to either Anoka or Eden Prairie next week. You will see top B talent at these two regional tournaments. If you are up north go to East Grand Forks. I would say go to the south region, but again I have not seen many of these players play so I don't know the talent level.

yeah those two teams are really good when it comes to talent. Albin has one of the worst lines in the league though just watch him play though, good player on and off the ice from what I have heard. What are some good players on their teams?

Wayzata Blue has some amazing players. They are real deep this year. When we played them, one kid stuck out but I don't remember the number. I'd say all their offensive players are pretty solid. Especially their centers. We had a terrible time beating them on face-offs.

Sauk Rapids also has some good players. Namely number 16. Don't know the name.

On Duluth East they have a really small kid who scores all the time. #7 Hogan Davidson. Not the best in state, but pretty good.

These boards border on the ridiculous.

They are either parents or players touting themselves. They should really create a folder for all of these (best bantam A, best bantam A goalie, best bantam B1, best Bantam B1 Goalie, Best Bantam B2.....and don't forget subcategorizing by district) and call it "Self Promotion Categories". Then players and parents could come on and self promote.

Listen to the post prior to this. Clearly a poster hit a nerve by whacking him over being fat.

Then there is Hogwarts......he is a Wayzata guy but is on here making it sound like he is from some other team but all of the Wayzata guys are good.

Gag me!

none of these kids match up to any of the kids from eden prairies team a few years back. half of the team plays ep varsity now (including their goalie) one is at ssm, one is play aha varsity, and another plays for sta. i think they lost 3 games all year
