Poll of Polls

Post by PuckRanger »

I was bored at work this morning so I whipped this together...

Don't like one poll's opinion? How about them all put together? This is a cumulative poll of polls. It was calculated based on point system using 9 different rankings for AA and 8 different rankings for class A. Some rankings were given a slightly weighted advantage for their credibility and some only ranked up to 10 or 15. That is why you see some odd numbers. First place rankings are in paranthesis. The maximum point total attainable is 168 for AA and 165 for A.

Class AA
t1-Eden Prairie(2), 159
t1-Bloomington Jefferson (4), 159
3-Edina(3), 150
4-Centennial, 132
5-Duluth East, 131
6-Minnetonka, 121
7-Blaine, 120
8-Maple Grove, 110
9-Academy of Holy Angels, 100
10-Benilde-St. Margarets, 75
11-Woodbury, 71
12-Wayzata, 70
13-Hill-Murray, 64
14-Elk River/Zimmerman, 63
15-Moorhead, 40
16-Hopkins, 36
17-White Bear Lake, 31
18-Cretin-Derham Hall, 30
19-Burnsville, 24
20-Roseau, 10

Also ranked: Tartan, Eagan, Roseville, and Rochester Mayo.

Class A
1-St. Thomas Academy(4), 157
2-Little Falls(2), 156
3-Breck(1), 147
4-Warroad, 146
5-St. Cloud Cathedral, 132
6-Hermantown, 124
7-Thief River Falls, 106
8-South St. Paul, 105
9-Virginia/MI-B, 88
t10-Mahtomedi, 87
t10-Alexandria, 87
12-Duluth Marshall, 64
13-Red Wing, 61
14-International Falls, 57
15-Rochester Lourdes, 49
16-Hibbing/Chisholm, 48
17-Totino-Grace, 24
18-New Prague, 17
19-Duluth Denfeld, 15
20-Albert Lea, 11

Also ranked: Orono, New Ulm, Mound-Westonka, Sartell-St. Stephen, Bemidji, and Blake.

As you can see, even through this process, this still is no concensus #1 in either class.

AA looks pretty good. Elk River seems a bit low to me, but otherwise everything else seems plausible.

Are there really that many published polls in the state?

If you are that bored at work I'd be worried in this economy.
