Should be a very good game. I think Mahtomedia will win this one in overtime. 4-3.

Mahtomedi is about to run into a hot tartan team thursday. Coming off a big win against South St. Paul, who whooped Mahtomedi, and a tie against a now down, but still good, Hill Murray team. Alex Gierke has looked very good in the last 2 games will most likley get the start against the zephyrs. Tartan will be ready.

Let's not forget Mahtomedi has some really talented players, and if history plays itself out, Tartan will come out all over confident and then get blown out. The South St Paul game was won because young Adam Wilcox didn't have his best night, he's a helluva goalie...just wasn't his night. A tie against Hill Murray, who had just lost four top players, maybe isn't something you want to pound your chest about. Alex Gierke has been standing on his head these last two games. Hill Murray never figured out that they weren't going to beat him low, nobody tested him high. If Mr. Gierke plays just good in that Hill game...you lose. But he played outstanding. Goalies are hot and the next game they're not. You can't always ask your goalies to win games for you...it takes a team. I say this one will be too close to call, if I had to say...Mahtomedi by a goal from Ben Marshall. I think Mahtomedi is a more balanced team.

tartan blew out ssp and had a great game against hm. mahtomedi isn't that good. stop marshall and you stop mahtomedi. i won't make an ass outta myself and say 10-0 but I will say 6-1 tartan. right now tartan is playing as good as any team in the state.

titanzdman,
Who have they beat that makes them so good? blew out south st. paul? buddy, i just looked at the score sheet the shots were even! They lost 8-2 to woodbury, 6-3 to a not even good century team, blown out by STA, and loosing to Red Wing! OHHH WOW they tied Hill! Hill has just been shot in the foot loosing 2 of there first line forwards, one second line forward, and starting defenseman.
Mahtomedi on the other hand, took hill to over time against hills FULL roster. Beat #4 A ranked Breck, took #1 AA ranked hill (when they were ranked #1) in to overtime, beat top 10 AA ranked Maple Grove, man handled Red Wing, and dominated TG but a close game. also add that TG and Red Wing are rated top 15 in A.

6-1? are you serious? i picked tartan yeah cause there hot right now and got a goalie whos also hot.. but 6-1? Mahtomedi will never be blown out this year specially to tartan!

Stop Marshall and you stop Mahtomedi? Yeah, hes a great player and creates scoring chances like he could do it in his sleep, but hes is definantly not the whole team. Mahtomedi has 2 great lines of forwards who can score goals. Not to mention they have had great goaltending, but so has tartan latley. So this should be a great game, not a 6-1 blow out..but hey good prediction!

As good as any team in the state? They haven't beat a decent Class AA team yet this season.

When (if) they can do this (more than once), then maybe your statement will have a little merit. Until then, it doesn't.

i didnt say we were as good as any team in the state. i said right now we are playing as good as any team in the state. listen for our team to have a couple of back to back wins or ties means we are playing really really well as a team. we practice hard and now were playing hard. excuse me if im excited to be playing on a team thats doing well right now. we may not beat duluth east...but we damn sure wouldn't back down. sorry fellas i stand by this prediction tartan 6-1 over mahtomedi. we have played each other since squirts i think i may be qualified to make that prediction. i think you'll be surprised. sorry were lowly tartan the basketball school, not edina, hill, sta, centennial,or duluth.

Thanks titanzdman, now we know you play for THE AMAZING Tartan Titans and all your posts are biased! I'm sure some where in the forum descriptions it says "the minnesota high school hockey forum is for high school players to come and flaunt there teams." You just made a fool of your team. Let us all know when you beat a real team.

I wouldn't say that Tartan has been playing as well as any team in the state quite yet. Ok, you beat SSP and tied a short handed Hill-Murray team (they were short handed, let's just leave it at that. Please) but before that, you barely beat a bad Faribault team 2-1 and haven't done anything impressive all year. If you win this game people will start taking notice but until then I'll take Mahtomedi by 3.

What? That made so sense. I'm not even a Mahomtedi fan, i picked you guys to win if you didn't read my post. It should be a great game, having ties to the Classic Suburban Conference and Distirct 2, Tartan and Mahtomedi always play eachother hard. Good luck titanzdman, let me know how it goes, I unfortunantly cannot atend.

haha titanzdman you're funny. I don't think we are gonna win 6-1 though. It should be a really good game.
