Just because a team is good the year before, doesn't mean that they will be good again this year. Lakeville probably lost a lot of skaters this year, and didn't think they would be able to compete at the A level.

And by the way whoever said that Wayzata stacked their teams this year is wrong! They drafted evenly, it just happens one seems to be better at this point!

UNDlars,

hockeyfan510's point was that all JGB championships were won by teams that did not field an A team.

Your comeback to that is Wayzata won it in 2006. Ok, but the other three were still won by organizations that did not field A teams.

So, the early trend is that teams not fielding A teams will most likely win the B level.

The point is Lakeville has the choice to compete at a certain level. Obviously, they knew how good they were going to be this year because Sauce2122 was predicting a repeat in August.....fine.

And by their early scores, they might be the favorite to win it again.

However, SSP and Rochester do not not get a choice. For them, they are competing at the lowest level available.

It seems odd to me all the people rushing to defend Lakeville's choice and attacking hockeyfan510 opinion.

I would be willing to bet most organizations would choose to play up if they were literally not going to have any competition in their league play.

Personally, I would not be falling on the sword for Lakeville for this one...

ssp should emerge as a dominant force and should not be taken light-heartedly, after all they did beat lakeville 13-1from what i saw in a previous post.

i never said anything about a repeat in august. You just plain made that up. So as to you saying we knew we were going to be good early, we didn't.

if anybody asked me in august if we were going to be good. I would have said NO and meant it completly. We had a senior night last year and i was a junior and the seniors where on the ice. I looked at the kids coming back and said, o crap. only three kids that where halfway decent where coming back, and two made JV this year.

To tell you the truth, I was planning on not playing for lakeville at all this year and I was one of the kids that came to the last practice that filled the roster as 21Troll said in the other thread. One kid got cut, ONE KID, and he brought along me and 5 other skaters, AFTER TRYOUTS WERE OVER. So, the decision to stay at B seemed to be the smart one at the time, early, WHEN IT HAD TO BE MADE, our team this year DID fall toghether at the last minute.

And trust me, I do not want to be playing in D8, playing in the Metro would be way more fun for us. Don't blame us for that part, blame our district.

I would like to get this thread back on the topic by predicting the JGB Champion, but first an apology to Sauce2122.

I took something that hockeyfan510 stated and attributed to you. So, sorry for that.

In addition, hockeyfan510 took the original post out of context. It was not a prediction about Lakeville winning it again, but it was a question could they win it again.

Which brings me back to the original topic. AbsolFrickinLutely!!!

After reading a bunch of stuff including the Lakeville coach's rational for choosing to go B again.

I think Lakeville is the clear-cut favorite to win the JGB Championship. No other B team can match the top-end talent that Lakeville possess.

My next choice would be Roseville. They also have a lot of talent and there is a rumor they may be getting two more varsity players before the December 31st deadline.

I think we will see a repeat of last year's championship game, Lakeville vs Roseville.

And this brings the whole thread back to topic including hockeyfan510's original complaint....

Sorry about this somewhat off topic response but when I read this I had to comment.

Sauce2122,

I see you think 'highly' of your teamates.

"if anybody asked me in august if we were going to be good. I would have said NO and meant it completly. We had a senior night last year and i was a junior and the seniors where on the ice. I looked at the kids coming back and said, o crap. only three kids that where halfway decent where coming back, and two made JV this year. "

My suggestion would be to have fun like everyone else, worry about my own game and not be critical others (especially your own team). Hopefully, I get a chance to see you play this year you make yourself sound like a stud.

that may sound bad and i worded it wrong. I am not a stud. I am a JGB player through and through. I played JV in 10th grade but got limited time so i didn't try out again. In JGB i don't stick out as a bad player but i will never be noticed as a higher end player. the players i was refering to being bad are not on the team again this year. the two worst players from last years team did not try out again for jr gold this year. If they where on my team i would never say that about them. Alls i was trying to get across was that we didn't think we where going to be good early in the year.
my bad on the confusion

But back to the topic. It's way to hard to tell who's gunna win it cuz it's still early. But i can take a guess on who will be in the tournament. Due to D8 weakness this year I'll start with that.

Lakeville
the woodburry team that is doing better, hastings that is doing better, or IGH??????( hard to tell for D8 second team)
Roseville
Edina
Edina
WBL black
Wayzata Gold
maybe Wessys?

i gotta disagree with the edina white team... they are 3-2-1 in league play, yet somehow still have the #2 spot in state, but otherwise that is pretty good.

Hudson only plays in the regular season. Since they are a Wisconsin team they can not play in Minnesota postseason play.
