Elliot,
Agree that the little Pitlick kid is the best player on the team and the rest of the team is very solid. They have 2 or 3 big defensemen that are very good.
Goaltending is also above average. This group won Fargo tourney 2 years ago at the Squirt level.

It also sounds like this wayzata team is messed up looking at the spirit of duluth thread (parents drinking in parking lot before game) (one ejection and another major)....... Also at the start of the season i was at the white bear game and it looks like there 3 solid d.and half the forwords are good

24/7,
I heard about the Duluth fiasco. (ie-Wayzata ladies drinking heavily before a 10am game and then going off on tourney officials) They must be Packer fans!

I have to agree with you guys, The Wayzata (#16) player is great, anytime you compare a '97 to a '96 player you know he's good. He reminds me of other great players of the past where jealous parents/players keep taking shots at him. This kid is not only great on his skates, he's got it upstairs,he's humble, he's a team player, the whole package. It's tough to say who can go the distance at age 11, but from what I have seen this kid is special (thats why your talking about him).

Golden bear love the comment[/quote]
Hey Jake Wallin, I mean hockeyfreak 24/7, worry about your own team and issues surrounding it. I hear you are not much of a team player.

Wow. I hope this is kids spatting at one another. Next it will be my dad is better then your dad
At a youth level when you have a "couple" players better then most of their teammates, you will always hear complaints about not passing, puck hog, etc. If the other kids or teams don't like it take the puck away from them..... If these "Kids" are talanted, then be happy for them, congratulate them, why bash them. Be Happy !! Its the Holidays. This State has Alot of Very good hockey players, enjoy watching them for who they are, not who everyone else wants them to be..

Jimmy you sound like Bernie... "too small" Ha! Toby Peterson was too small when he was playing two years up and look where he is now.. the fact is both of those players are special and they are faster than the game right now. They have adapted at every level that they play and I have seen Little Pit send bigger guys flying.. the checking game is suiting him just fine and if you or anyone else taking shots at these kids you don't know much about hockey.

How do you know they won't have a large growth spurt?? I, myself, grew 5 inches between my sophmore and senior year of high school. Kids grow at different speeds. Some hit their major growth spurt real young, some not till later.jimmynys37 wrote:All things being equal, size wins in the end unless they are "special" players.
I think Wallin and Pitlick are the real deals, but their lack of size will eventually hurt them.
I think if you ask most PeeWee players, they would say Wallin and Pitlick are the top players.
Go Crimson!
Re: Wayzata PeWee A
They have talent, as long as the coach can maintain discipline, and the parents do not get in the way, I would predict Wayzata and Roseau in the finals at state.jimmynys37 wrote:Elliot,

As peewees you could hardly see them, but hey skated past everyone else.
Size is meaningful but does not tell the whole story.
And Pilick is not the whole team, but is definitely a player.
Wayzata is a great team, no question. Pit might be the best 97 born player in North America. Size has been no issue thus far and I doubt it will be, he's strong on his skates and has a mean streak on the ice.
