Actually a few:
1. Those few AAA teams in WI do not have all the best kids in the state, especially Green Bay which is in NE part of WI has just a few kids from out of immediate GB area.
2. For those who oppose AAA in MN - AAA in WI, IL, MI and other states is an option. If you can't afford it or don't want to commit for any other reason is understandable but it doesn't warrant not giving this option to others.
3. My son is on AAA team so yes, I am biased towards AAA. It is hard at times for 10+ year old kids and is very demanding not only money wise but time, stress and missing an occasional family event is common. It may not be worth for some and it is for others, but again - this is an option. Saying things like "we don't need it" is not a good argument against it.

There are solutions in various parts of the country that work best for them. These may not be the same solutions in MN - the problems are different. AAA in Southern CA makes sense - there are not enough players within the associations to make the competition level enough to develop all the players. In the NE, and parts of the Midwest - AAA works because travel costs are less - population centers are more compact.
I'm not even making the argument that AAA isn't appropriate in MN - i just have not heard a good reason for it. It is definitely not good if it helps a very small few, but hurts the great majority. So the statement - give the options to others is not appropriate if it hurts the vast majority of kids. And, i have heard only 1 argument so far that it helps a few - and that argument is that some associations can't field teams approrpriate to the level of play for all its members.

Because Tier 1 AAA hockey offers higher level development and competition than the average A Bantam team.hockeyboys wrote:There are solutions in various parts of the country that work best for them. okay
Chaos, you can prove the competition, but I still haven't seen proof of the development.
Be kind. Rewind.
at the end of the day if you took every kid in AAA spread them out in association hockey they would blend right in with the rest. they would stick out as good players do and thats it. its not to tuff to figure out why these teams succeed against association teams. the chest beating is pathetic when you hand pick a team and think every kid is superior to the rest of the country because they can beat an association team that doesnt have the even talent throughout its line up.

I have seen many of these teams play in MN tournaments - and they fair well - sometimes even win them - but mostly they are just good competitive teams. They have in the past been nothing extraordinary compared to the MN A teams.
Then thier supporters tell me that is because they are all younger because they play by birth year. But that doesn't help the argument when it comes to development. Players develop becuase they play with like talented players - and in MN many get the chance to play with older players every other year - so they are developed even further by being challenged by older players.

Development to make fuller,bigger,better
Websters new world dictionary
How can playing down in some cases 1 year 364 days be what you call
developed even further. Get it right 1 year we develop next year we
then develop them backwards great plan.
I have seen many of these Teams play in top National Tournaments and
I will tell you for you to come on here and say " they are just good competitive teams" You must be the one who has fallen off the ship.
"They have in the PAST been nothing extraordinary compared to Mn a teams." But this is the present and as we all know the times have changed and not just a little allot. Boats have motors now not oars.
You say earlier that you like the development in Mn Hockey
What is it that you mean if you do not even know what it means.
Is it the slapshots that are two years behind the canadians.
Is it the checking that is two years behind the canadians
Is it the puck movement that is two years behind TIER 1
Is it the 35 game limits
Is it the 1 hour practices
Is it the no state tourny for squirts then why have one for pee wee, bantam
Is it your kid gets a chance to play with the better players and you Hope
that maybe your boy will then be able to catch up if we hold the top players down.
