Best line in the state

Post by dueling21 »

I'll one-up the Lake Conference thread...how about the best line in the state? I'm actually working on an article with such a question and have some nominees:

Edina’s Marshall Everson, John Eppel and Connor Gaarder
Edina's Anders Lee, Charlie Taft and Michael Sit
Rochester Lourdes’ Cole Peterson, Tyler Voigt and Taylor Funk
Little Falls’ Ben Hanowski, Ben Nelson and Wesley Waytashek
Duluth East’s Jayce Paulseth, Max Tardy and Joe Nelson
Virginia/MIB’s Chris Westin, Garrett Hendrickson and Andrew Judnick
Minnetonka’s Max Gardiner, Tommy Lundquist and Sam Coatta
Jefferson’s Tyler Dietzler, Caleb Herbert and Zach Knight
Jefferson’s Bjorn Knutson, AJ Siiro and TJ Gallus
Hopkins’ Travis Boyd, Archie Skalbeck and Nate Seashore
Woodbury’s Max Gaede, Tony Pittman and Connor Delaney/Tyler Nowicki
St. Francis’ Joey Benik, T.J. Belisle and Tyler Lebeaux
St. Thomas Academy’s Christian Isackson, Justin Crandall and AJ Reid
Apple Valley’s Chris Fischer, Colton Warner and Michael Berens
Burnsville’s Zach May, Andy Pearson and Adam Smyth
Hermantown’s Adam Krause, Charlie Comnick and Kurt Peterson
Moorhead’s Quinn Buckellew, Kyle Kraemer and Trent Johnson
Benilde’s Pat Cron, Christian Horn and Pat Steinhauser
Blaine’s Nick Bjugstad, Gavin Tufte and Tyler Turnquist
Holy Angels’ Danny Mattson, Ryan Reilly and Connor Reilly
St. Paul’s Mike Anderson, Sam Wilczyk and Jake Wallner
Centennial’s Willie Hess, Tyler Pitlick and Jordan Lovick
Hill-Murray’s Isaac Kohls, Nick Widing and Tyler Zepeda

Some of these guys I know play on the same line because I've seen them play. Some I'm quite certain do, and some are a bit more questionable.

Any additions?

Edina could answer this question real quick if Lee and Everson were on the same line, but since they dont i would have to go with the Centennial line.

I agree that Edina would have the best if they put Lee-Everson-Gaarder together. The Centennial line is excellent too. Hill-Murray and Holy Angels also jump out at me from this list.

I would narrow it too:
Edina’s Marshall Everson, John Eppel and Connor Gaarder
Minnetonka’s Max Gardiner, Tommy Lundquist and Sam Coatta
Jefferson’s Tyler Dietzler, Caleb Herbert and Zach Knight
Centennial’s Willie Hess, Tyler Pitlick and Jordan Lovick
Hill-Murray’s Isaac Kohls, Nick Widing and Tyler Zepeda

from that I would say its tough but either Edina's or Jefferson's, but Hill's is pretty sick

It would be hard to disagree that Hill and Centennial have the two best lines as of now. Although when Lee and Everson step on the ice together, it's scary. Too bad there split up, and to bad it's not Budish Lee and Everson.
Stay Classy, Minnesota.

i would say that next year the best line in state without question will be jefferson's all junior line. however this year its hard to beat centennials top line along with hill murray's and edinas...its obvious that the best teams have the best lines so its between these top 4

Anyone know which of these lines has the most combiend points except for St. Francis because they might as well play girls JV teams?

I would say based on forwards, centennial is hard to match. Pitlick, Lovick, and Hess have over 50% of the cougars offense with 16 of their 29 goals on the season. All three are outstanding players with great futures. However, if you throw in defense Duluth East might be on top. Their forwards move the puck like tic tac toe second to no one and Forbort is the real deal. He is so smooth with every thing he does on the ice and it just looks natural. With his size, ice awareness and the way he moves, handles and rushes the puck looks like he will be a great NHLer in the future. Great pick up for north dakota. Would have been nice to see him in a gopher uni alongside fairchild tho :D

Maple Grove has two very good lines that should be mentioned as well.

Josh Gross, Matt Dee and Sophomore Danny Carlson
Tommy Malone, Alec Horton and Isaac Sinz

Ya Maple Groves first line is good, but they are def. not the same caliber as Hill, Edina, and Centennials first lines.

I would say Edina or Centennials first lines would have to be the best.
