Shootouts are ties on the record. They are used for advancement in tournaments.

Well here are my Rankings. I don't have any numbers to back them up, and well I didn't calculate strength of schedule or anything.... wow how I can even have the audacity to post this, I don’t know?

1. East -
2. Rochester – Two in a row…. You know I think it is really great that a city of 100,000 is able to find some good hockey players
3. Rogers-
4. Wayzata – Slipping a bit, but still one of the best
5. Maple Grove / Osseo – not sure what to think they are so up and down
6. Lakeville South -
7. Eagan – playing better
8. Apple Valley -
9. Edina -
10. Roseau – always improving
11. EP -
12. Minnetonka-
13. Centennial – only victory was over WBL in last place game
14. WBL – Winless in talent filled tourney
15. Minneapolis Park – Has potential to take down a big team in March
16. Jefferson -
17. Burnsville -
18. Stillwater – Winning games, but not close to the big dogs
19. Moorhead – Winning a tourney has to count for something
20. Roseville – can’t break into the big time

Teams on the outside looking in this week (in no particular order)
Woodbury - Chaska -

Rankings

Post by northwoods oldtimer »

Chuck thanks for the rankings and we really like your approach to ranking. Yup that comment goes out to you CB00 everyone knows where you are getting the post from so there is really no need to duplicate the myhockey Minnesota rank each and every week soon after Chuck gives us the post. It is a bit annoying. I for one enjoy what Chuck has to say about the teams.

CNF--I enjoy reading what you have to say about each of the teams. I agree with you about rochester finding some players outta 100,000. Rochester has a strong talent pool for both the A1 team and the B1 team. The B1 team this year is made up of all first years except for 1 and is basically the A1 team from last year with the exception of about 6 A2 players moving up. Ever consider doing the B rankings?? Keep it up :D

CNF, nice job on the rankings. I just wish Shattuck could play Rogers so I could judge them myself. January 17th, Duluth East at Shattuck St Mary's.

Kudo's to the boys from Rochester for beating Shattuck in the championship last weekend. Anyone who doubts that Kautz is the top 94 goalie in the state missed him put a riddle that couldn't be broken against SSM.

Unless Rogers is going to the Silver Stick finals in Port Huron, I think the dates are off. But it would be great if they did play.

this is how i see it

1. duluth east- hands down the top team
2. wayzata - lucia, besse et al...they play a very difficult schedule loses happen
3. rochester red-WOW!!!taking the shattuck tourney is something else, we'll see how they finish
4. lakeville south - fast and excellent goaltending...beating both grand forks teams is pretty impressive
5. apple valley- has played an underwelming tournament schedule but with fasching and the rest. this should be an awesome team
6. eagan
7. maple grove
8. rogers-plays to its competition too much scores against cambridge and champlin should have been bigger
9. bemidji - maybe a little high right now...we'll see
10. burnsville - a little up and down but show tenacity and promise
11. roseville - big first line strong showing...a couple of loses in tournaments in ot and shootout.
12. minnetonka -
13. white bear lake
14. edina - a young team that might improve...if their scores stay the same all season could drop out all together
15. elk river - goaltending is excellent...take out the games in october and they have 16 goals against in 11 games.
16. tartan - big and physical good defense
17. grand rapids - i expected this team to be a top 10 team...maybe by years end
18. hermantown
19. roseau
20. woodbury

things are pretty subjective below 10th or 11th spot

We actually dont care how you see. Most of the teams you have listed are not very good.

IF YOU WANT TO POST YOUR RANKINGS DO IT ON ANOTHER TOPIC THIS ONE IS FOR CHUCK NORRIS FAN ONLY. HE HAS THE BEAT.

If you would like to comment go ahead but we dont need another top 20 especially when you have about 10 teams that wont even qualify for the regional tournament.

It is public go make your own top 20 somwhere else though since it looks so good to you.

Most of the teams listed by CTBROW are not very good at the bottom and order, but thats ok it is public. No basis for your argument just a bunch teams that have never won anything or play a schedule to get them there in the first place.

MAKE YOUR OWN TOPIC MR. PUBLIC

Fire and Ice what you say is funny...because i would venture that 7 of the bottom 10 teams will be in their regional tournament. roseville, hermantown, wbl, elk river, grand rapids, roseau and either 'tonka or edina.

your either feigning bitterness, angry that my post reflects yours and you didn't post it first, or bitter because your team isn't in the ranking.

I am certainly not bitter, because I have no team.

Elk River will not make the D10 regional. Rogers, Centennial, and Blaine are much better than Elk River. They can barely get a shot on goal. In defense they lost 4 or 5 guys. Point is you dont know who has what but CNF has most of that figured out.

White Bear will make theres but just lost 4 games at Shattuck and are better than Burnsville. Minnetonka after losing 3 players is probably the 4th best team in 6 behind Apple Valley, Edina, and Eden Priarie and they only get 2.

So what I am saying is start your own Bantam A topic and put teams in the top 20 that couldnt beat there way out of papersack and then leave out teams that most of know will make it even if they are not the superpowers they have been recently...they are still better than the ALSO RANS!

Here is some of the teams that are in there on your behalf:

Tartan???what
Bemidji is no number 9
How is Maple Gorve ahead of Rogers after a 6-2 thumping
How is Eagan 6?? justify that one
Who has Roseville beaten
Edina is better than WBL and Minnetonka
Elk River isnt even in the top 4 in D10 behind Rogers Centennial Blaine?
Roseau is better than 19
and Woodbury is not a top 20 squad
remember some teams only play a top 10 schedule so forget your records and play someone...everyday.

So I am not bitter CNF just has a better feel for things than you.
