haha 10-0 is a bit rediculous. but id say at least 6-1 or so. around there. now moorhead will be a different storyHockeyHigh wrote:I'd have to bet against you on that, to be fair. WBL couldn't even get that many on the duster South had for a goalie last year.wtbearlk1111 wrote:White bear 10 Fargo 0

I don't think B has any more respect for Fargo South than Mornville has for them. Maybe it will be a blowout. I doubt it, but we'll see.defense wrote:Moorhead will be a different story????? Well when a team with 1/9 of the population to get talent from can compete with top teams in the "State of Hockey", I don't see why they wouldn't be proud of it. ND isn't supposed to be a state known for its athletics when it is one of the smallest states in the country.specialblend wrote:And all you fans of border ND teams get your hopes up every time you play a team from the state of hockey.SiouxYAYA wrote:2 to 1 South all you cake eaters Minnesotians under estimate the border ND teams
And yeah, maybe South will lose tonight, I wouldn't be outright surprised. However, it's not like ND hasn't had competitive teams (such as RR last year and South in '06, as long as plenty of teams before that). It's simply looking for some recognition, and that's what these games are about.

Fargo South
It will be a little closer.
Fargo South 3
White Bear Lake 1
The question is: Will White Bear Lake be able to handle the NoDak style of hockey and possibility of having one of Fargo's notoriouse homer refs officiating this contest.......

white bear scored 10 seconds in to the game and didnt score until the 3rd period. coach sager started backup goalie evan weiss. maybe saving owen for moorhead? sloppy game for both teams...
losing is still far from optional

And you thought your Bears were going to walk all over Fargo. Probably will get dumped by Moorhead as well.B wrote:fargo-4defense wrote:It will be a little closer.

agreed it was sloppy by both teams. shots were not accurate at all i did not think, guy in the box seemed to be sleeping half the time. FS owned the first period but after that they took advantage of the opportunities they had. WBL however did not, missing the net from great shooting areas, one example being 5 straight shots missing the net on a 5 on 3 in the 2nd period. i also noted FS had a couple of players that loved to talk mess as well as clutch and grab, just irritated me. i thought the officiating was brutal, but both ways. if WBL plays like they did in the 1st and 2nd period tomrrow they will be man handled

The shots weren't meant to hit the net. WBL was having a really hard time beating South's goalie (All 3 goals were backdoor goals). They were looking for the tip off the two players positioned on either side of the net. That's a poor choice though, in a 5 on 3 the two defense cover the sides of the net and the forward covers the points in a triangle. Using a power play with that setup against a passive triangle is asking for failure.nipeshow18 wrote:agreed it was sloppy by both teams. shots were not accurate at all i did not think, guy in the box seemed to be sleeping half the time. Also, I thought WBL was being a lot more ridiculous with their penalties. They constantly hacked players after the whistle, hit South's goalie, and two of WBL's players actually jumped on a South player in front of South's net. Even then, it was a coincidental minor, when it was pretty obvious it was a WBL penalty. Both teams were getting pretty chippy in the game though. WBL had plenty of chances on power plays, they just couldn't convert.
This game could've been more in favor of South than it was, I think WBL was underestimating them far too much. I didn't hear the "State of Hockey" chant either, I was surprised.

Typical Twin Cities Attitude... "sweep" thats all I heard this week... I said if they got a split on the road they would be lucky..... I will be curious to see what happens tomorrow! Blame the officials, the play or the "Trying not to hit the net" (might be the best thing I heard all day) or whatever you want... the fact is they came up short... Its a TYPICAL white bear team... it will be this way all year!
Spuds win by 2.... and the fact that Sager didnt play his best goalie is a shame.... play to win or go home!

I didn't imply they were intentionally missing the net. They were attempting a pass to their backdoor player since they couldn't beat South's goalie.PuckPatrol wrote: Blame the officials, the play or the "Trying not to hit the net" (might be the best thing I heard all day) or whatever you want...
I'm not making an excuse for White Bear, just justifying the missing of the net. They did make some poor choices on those shots, it'd have been smarter to move into and umbrella and go for rebounds.
they won by one. idiotPuckPatrol wrote:Typical Twin Cities Attitude... "sweep" thats all I heard this week... I said if they got a split on the road they would be lucky.....
