On Saturday, November 1st the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs will play host to the 19th Ranked St. Cloud State University Huskies at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota in the first game of the College Hockey Showcase.
The Bulldogs are coming off of a rough trip to Anchorage, Alaska where they gained only one point from the University of Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves by salvaging a tie in the second game of the series. Meanwhile the Huskies are also coming off of a tough weekend in which they split with the Bemidji State University Beavers in a non-conference match-up in Bemidji, Minnesota.
Thoughts or predictions on this WCHA game and the first ever College Hockey Showcase?
I'm going to say UMD takes this one 5-2 over St. Cloud. Not sure how many St. Cloud fans will be able to make it to the X since their isn't much snow for them to get their snowmobiles there!
The University of Minnesota-Duluth takes the opening game of the College Hockey Showcase at the Xcel in dominating fashion thumping St. Cloud by the score of 5-1.

Was at this game and UMD looked fantastic. St. Cloud did a lot of standing around waiting for UMD to make a mistake. Cloud does not look like a very good team this year and UMD looks to be a competitive contender.
Wow, UMD showed me a lot in this game. Stalock is finally an answer in net for them and they can run 2 or 3 lines and get production no problem. They are a very solid team and SCSU has a long way to go.
