Hockey coach at Coon Rapids and all his Staff resigns

Post by Hockey Fan »

I recently heard that the hockey coach and his staff at Coon Rapids have resigned. I think that's good For Coon Rapids but it will be hard to find new coaches at this late date.

So - a good H.S. coach can't be found in our great state three months before the season starts? Is this the end? Don't worry yet, someone will step up.

There's a difference between a good high school coach, and a coach who doesn't have a job 3 months before a season starts. I agree someone will step up, but the probability of it being a good hs coach are probably slim to none.

Talked to a friend of Roo's, and it's evidently just a family situation. They wanted him home more, so he resigned. He only came back last season because they were having a little trouble finding a coach who would fit in, so he stepped in again. I don't think there's any controversy here if that's what people are trying to hint at.

Roo is a great guy and has a great family. Good luck and I am sure it is a relief to him to have this behind him.

Wow. If that's true, it's big news in Governor land as Joey was one of us (a '93 in fact). Good for him.

I don't know what he'll be walking into in CR, but I know his kids at Bernards had a lot of respect for him, and he got them to play hard - remember they pulled off "Miracle On Ice II" ( ) when the Saints beat Breck last season.

He's a little bit of a hot head at times, but he's a very competitive guy, and knows his stuff, so hopefully he can get them moving in the right direction over the next couple of years.

GO CARDS!
