Danny Mattson

Post by Whatever »

In my opinion the kid can play but the question is can he lead his team team to state. As you all know in order to do so AHA has to beat Edina.. So I guess the question is.. Can Danny Mattson lead AHA to a state tourney?

Edina is too good this year. Mattson is a great player but I don't think he's good enough to beat Edina single handedly.

If you haven't seen the Riley's lately, they are pretty damn good to.

I will add my AHA 2 cents.... I think the answer is YES. He can lead them to state. the real question is can they get there. They have a large hurdle in Edina, who has a lot of talent but you need someone to lead the talent. I do not feel that Giles is the guy. He had the talent last year and could not produce. A team like that is so dominant that they should have coasted.
Webb is back at Edina, I think Cashetta is a better goalie and AHA knows Webb's weaknesses. All in all this should be a good match up come the end of the season.

As good as he is, and he is not a significant enough game changer to make that happen.

Since when is he a Defensemen? The last time I heard, he played center.

Who is the goalie going to be at AHA? Edina is good but nobody is a lock. That section will go down to 3 teams. Anyone of them could get to state. AHA fans certainly remember what happened in the section finals a few years back. That team might have been deeper then Edina is going to be this year. Danny could lead them to state, but they will also have to ride a hot goalie.

Don't both of these teams need to get buy Jefferson? I would not count them out this year.

Is this a serious question Danny Matson is a great player and for sure a forward (IMHO) but there is no possible way he can lead the team to the tourny all by himself if edina dosen't win the state championship something is wrong cause they should have won it the past two years.

He is a very good player. Although Edina is going to be too big and strong for AHA this year. I think they should have won it last year and probably will this year, I'm sure they want it more than most.

"I'm sure they want it more than most"

Just out of curiosity, what does this mean?
The goal of every team is to win it all. Nobody wants it more than anybody else.

As far as goalies go, Tommy Burke will lead the STARS this year. Tommy is good, plays really well and has his head in the game.

Someone also pointed it out that Edina should have won it the last two years, well that being said - you never know what will happen. AHA was the most dominant team from 2002 - 2005, winning two championships and a third place and consolation championship. They should have wom all four years, but they did not. No one is a lock, especially those teams with all the talent.

But this should be fun to watch.

When it comes down to it, one team wants it more..and in those situations that's what it comes down to...yes they all want it...but that's not the point...the drive and wanting something shows, and not all teams can show that or ar capable of that, even with tons of talent and wanting to win...wanting is the easy part..knowing how to win and drive is a must...Edina will prevail

If that made no sense i'm sorry...it makes sense in my mind...(only because i'm a winner)

Danny can do it and I think that AHA will suprise everyone this year. They have more depth than people think.

Danny is a very good player. The shelf seems to be somewhat bare in the D zone. Goalie will be a question mark after Webb's departure. AHA will have a difficult time getting past Edina's depth.
