elite 1 invite tryouts
I heard that the tryouts for invited players is held at New Hope Does anyone know the date and times

Tryouts for north players are at Neilson Reise Arena (Bemidji, MN) on July 13 from 10:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Successful candidates will be notified by July 18 if they have been selected to participate in the league. The list of selected players will also be posted on the Elite League website at hselitehockey.com.

Body shots the answer would be #4. I have heard the North is picked, if you go to tryouts it's probably like last year, for $$$, you don't have a chance unless somebody bails for juniors or elsewhere, or gets pulled in because of who he knows, maybe they should give out the list of players that have gotten letters saying they already made the team without tryouts? or how many spots are actually open?

How many spots are actually open? Depends. When my son tried out between his sophomore and junior year, I was told that there were less than 15 spots they needed to fill. Over 70 kids (4 teams of kids) were competing for those 10 spots that one day of a tryout.eastranger19 wrote:Body shots the answer would be #4. My kid did not have anybody pulling favors for him. He never did make the US Select camps at 15, 16 or 17. He competed, had a good tryout and was placed on a team. Played 2 years in the Elite League, a full ride scholarship followed and then was drafted. I attribute it to the competition of that tryout.
So before anybody responds with "it is all political", don't bother. It is a competition and a tough one. Sometimes a good player is left out, many times more than one is left behind. I know several that I thought should have made it or could have made it.
The pyramid gets smaller at every level. The competition gets more difficult as you go up the ladder. I know, I am watching my kid every year and there are less spots than the year before. It is life, it is reality.

Just spots for the metro based teams (NE, NW, SE, SW). Back then it was very unusual for a metro player to play for an out area team (North, Great Plains, Wisconsin). well my kid will be like your kid this year...obviously I think he should make it and should have been asked based on his season last year....but his coach is promoting other kids on his team...one made it last year and didn't have a good HS last year....so it is doubtful he will make it if politics play in..and to your point....that is a fact of life...Observer85 wrote:How many spots are actually open?
