MAHA VP - gold (june election)

Post by elliott70 »

Minnesota Hockey has an opening for a VP position.
The election will be at the June meeting.

To be eligible per MN H by-laws,
'Officers may be selected from the membership of the Board or any adult resident of Minnesota who supports and can further the purposes of the corporation.'

The Minnesota Hockey web page lists qualifications,
Those items listed are not true.
They may be important to the people voting, but they are not necessary to run for the office.

Included in the information posted is that the canidate must have a minimum of three years on the MH Board.
This is not true and why it is posted I do not know.
I can hazard a guess.

Someone, again, is playing with the rules for their own benefit AND driving away potential good canidates for this job (volunteer).

:x

Thanks for the honest insight, E70. I knew of a couple of people that read it, with mild interest, and figured the new VP was already chosen. Your honest assessment is appreciated.

I spoke with Mark Jorgensen who stated exec committee did this.
I emailed Jerry Demeo and said I wanted it changed.
He replied he would look into it.
