Programs looking for coaches

Post by itstime »

I see Coon Rapids is looking for coaches, it looks like they had a strong "A" peewee team but does anyone know what there "A" bantam team should be like this up coming season.

If, you are at all interested in applying for the job I would strongly suggest you visit a couple of there Board meetings just so you have a idea on what you are getting involved in. There A Bantam team should reflect a better than average season (alot better than this years all in due to the coaching staff). The upcoming team should consist of at least 6 1st year Bantams that played at the A Peewee level this past season. From 2nd hand information that I received from a close source that has access to the stats on this past seasons A Bantam team there were I think 5 or 6 1st year bantams on the team 1 was a goalie, 1 defenseman and 3 or 4 forwards. Three of the 1st year bantams were the leading point getters on the team. The boys traveling director was the head coach and he never once in his career as a coach has had a winning season. Supposedly, since his son was in his last year of the youth program he now is the girls traveling director because he has a daughter in the program. Now if this doesn't tell you something nothing will. Obviously, he is on the board for 1 reason to coach his kids to control where they play. Now that he is on the girls side hopefully the boys teams will turn around for the better. Hope this helps!

If that isnt laughable. First of all Coon Rapids hasnt had a good program in probably 20 years. They had 1 good Bantam A team in 2004. Look at the banners in the rink and that will show you the lack of state tournament berths. The Bantams and Peewees havent done much in District 10 either.

Dont put this on Auman, your program has stunk for a long time! His kid by the way was about the only skilled kid on their team this year.

It is amazing how many of you on this board trash the coaches of really bad programs...have you ever been around a good program to know the difference? What are you comparing yourselves too?

By the way their are only a few really good youth programs in the state and they are easy to name. Numbers help but someone has to teach when they are young....

I will have to check out a meeting. Blueliner5 you seem to be pretty close to the program, how many of these kids will probably leave early for high school? Also does there own high school take freshman if they will only play JV?
