Anders Lee to Harvard?
Shooter in his column this morning stated that he has made a commitment to Harvard following Hornets teamate Marshall Everson? Your thoughts?

It would have been a real coup for the Gophers if they could have gotten Lee as well as convince Everson to back out of his committment to join Buddish at the U. Who really knows the Gophers interest though.Lucia4President wrote: I was hoping the Gophers would pick him up. He is a great player, and he should do well in college.

What team doesn't need more players like that?DmanDad1980 wrote:Wow

He is so strong in the offensive zone, not many Dmen can knock him off his feet, and the U needs more Lee types; strong, very good skater, good hands, and a player w/ hockey sense... something I have not seen in this years UofM squad
Everyone hates private schools (and Edina)!!

Congrats to Anders, but I am not as high on him as everyone else is. I think he looks at his skates and the puck too much and therefore doesn't see the ice as well as Everson and Budish and usually ends up missing an open pass. He usually ends up beating a defender and scoring anyway, but once someone can get him to skate with his head up, he will be a force to reckon with.

Too bad for him, you sound like a either a NHL scout or a Bantam B-2 player. That was very funny.scoreboard33 wrote:Congrats to Anders, but I am not as high on him as everyone else is. Ask the teams that he played against this year and I'm sure most of them will tell you that he is already a force to reckon with.scoreboard33 wrote:Congrats to Anders, but I am not as high on him as everyone else is. The U invented swagger.

It must be pretty well known by Harvard. I read an article about it online yesterday. I can't remember where it was though.

I think he is a very good player, he is probably the best player in the state with his speed, size, strength and shot. He knows where to go on the ice to score goals and is just as likely to fight for the pucks in corners and play defense as he is to score goals, however in the state tournament, when he was just about to receive the puck and when he got the puck, he would put his head down and kind of quit seeing the entire ice. It is just a very small thing, but he doesn't seem to be a great passer and especially when he has skated with the puck for a while he usually ends up shooting, even if a player has skated open along with him. It may seem like a small thing, however it hurts his ability to be a double threat on offense and if it goes uncorrected it will hurt his game at the next level.Goldy Gopher wrote:Ask the teams that he played against this year and I'm sure most of them will tell you that he is already a force to reckon with.scoreboard33 wrote:Congrats to Anders, but I am not as high on him as everyone else is. I don't know that he would want to play QB for the Gophers as they have Gray coming in and Alipate commited. I think he still might play football and has all the tools to be a D1 QB.Hockeyguy_27 wrote:I spoke to his father Friday and Lee has NOT committed to Harvard yet. This was premature but he still might go there. He is also getting recruited as a football QB by the Gophers and by a number of other D1 hockey schools.

Kids with this kind of versatile ability don't come around often, and when one of the premier hockey schools in the country has a kid w/ this ability in its backyard...komada77 wrote:What team doesn't need more players like that?DmanDad1980 wrote:Wow

Unfortunately looking at this years Gopher squad... they really do need this type of player to compliment the Ness & Lofquist (small, mobile, playmakers) type of players coming in...

This year U squad; zero finishers; zero playmakers; poor hands all around up front...
Would liked to have seen more of Budish/Everson/Lee as a unit for the U, instead it may be 1/3rd Gophers - 2/3rds Crimson... As a Gopher fan, not the best outcome... Greedy yes I know...

He could run the spread O better than Alipate. Gray has had a fractured wrist. I would look in to it. He can run he proved that as well.scoreboard33 wrote:I don't know that he would want to play QB for the Gophers as they have Gray coming in and Alipate commited.
