Damn. It's been awhile since I've been on that side of town. You just ruined my day.Goldy Gopher wrote:I might be off but for some reason I want to say that the last time I went home Maid Rite had gone out of business.EREmpireStrikesBack wrote:Another St. Cloud choice, Maid Rite.

Just got home from a snowmobile ride that took me to Kings Place in Miesville
I counted 37 different selections of burgers and I went with the bacon-cheeseburger topped with a fried egg and a hot dog, by far the best burger i've ever had
Just cant wait for Mudhen baseball and then over to kings for a grease bomb and a couple of pops

In & Out in Vegas was awesome... especially after getting in at 4 or 5 AM...Mr. McTabish wrote:Anyone ever had an In & Out burger on the West Coast? They're all the rage. I had one and thought it was awesome, but not as awesome as the hype made it out to be, but apparently you're supposed to order your burger "animal style", where they throw all kinds of stuff on your burger that makes it supreme to all other burgers. I heard thousand island dressing and I don't even know what else, but apparently it's the stuff. And I didn't know that at the time so I just got a standard cheeseburger.
Also down south there is the Steak N Shake, which I had when I went to a rock show at the Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louiseville, Kentucky last summer. Some kind of steak burger served with some delicious ice cream shake, both were a real treat.

Steak N Shake also rules, hit that in Indy, also hit the spot, and the shake soothed what ailed me...
Newts in Rochester is very good...
Sounds cheesy, but I love Fuddruckers burgers too

Love burgers

Govs made his way down to Miesville yesterday to take in the Mudhens vs. the Dundas Dukes and of course stopped in at King's... you can change that "15 choices" to 43. They hand you a normal looking menu, except for one page... 43 lines, single spaced, all burgers.EREmpireStrikesBack wrote:
Any burger (they got like 15 choices) @ King's in Miesville.
I opted for the proverbial "heart attack on a bun"... The "Batter Up Burger" which I believe is a 1/3 lb. topped with cheese, a hot dog, and a fried egg (the fried egg I actually didn't notice in the description, but like I say... single spaced - it all ran together I guess). I'm happy to announce that no harm was done, and I managed to walk to my car without keeling over.
Unfortunately, it was a little windy, and the corn hasn't grown in yet behind the walls at Jack Ruhr Field, but it was an otherwise perfect day to take in a game - although I left the sunglasses in the car, and believe I may have sunburned my eyes. It was a real kick to see so many people turn up for a town ball game in their Mudhen hats and sweatshirts... it's pretty much what you'd picture small town baseball to be - damn near perfect (that 1 lane bridge in Hastings is a real issue, but that's aside from the fine folks of Miesville. Certainly nothing they can do about that.).
By the way - next time you (I) shell out $6 for your Dome Dog, keep in mind that the most expensive consession item in Miesville is a freshly grilled brat which is $3, and that includes the beer, which is $2.50 as opposed to $7-ish at the Dome.

I've heard some people will go great distances to save $3 bucks on concessions

I don't think they have a burger that's more than about $4.50, do they? If you up it to a 1/2 lb, I think that's quite a bit more, but with with all the stuff they throw on a 1/3 lb, I don't know why you would. That place is very tough to beat.EREmpireStrikesBack wrote:Govs is right, way more than 15. I don't know what I was thinking.
I had a Dug Out and don't regret it one bit. They have some of the best burgers I've ever had and decent prices too.
Take in a Hens game, ERE?
Where the hell is an Embers anymore? I know they closed one by me on 394, and I saw the one on 94 & White Bear closed. Is the one on 36 & English still open?sachishi4 wrote:Had an Emburger Royal today
man, was that good
Speaking of 94 & White Bear... The first Sonic Drive-In in the cities opens on Monday on Suburban Ave. in St. Paul. That's probably worth a stop... Their burgers are good - although probably don't belong in a discussion of the "best" - but if you wash it down with a cherry limeade you're in business.
