Who will be the top team next year? AA

Post by Duda3210 »

With teams losing key players.

Zierke, Student, Berglund, McCarthy, Applehof all gone from BSM.
Justin Jokinen gone from Cloquet
Gardiner, ness, phillipi are gone.

With Edina losing only a few players, one being gleason, hopefully they will be at the top next year.

BSM won't be nearly ont he level they were this year. Unfortunately Edina is setting up to have the most talented team in the state, but then again they had the most talented team in the state this year too and didn't take the title. Do I smell another underachieveing hornets team next year? I think I do. :D :D

Edina will be the sole superpower next year

my estimated rankings are as follows:

1. Edina
2. Jefferson
3. Roseau
4. STA
5. Eden Prarie
6. Cenntenial
8. Hill Murray
9. Holy Angels
10. Hopkins

I think if anybody else has a chance of stopping Edina, it would be teams with great depth where their you players got tons of experience this season. I would say Roseau and Jefferson are those two teams.

Rams will be a top 10 team next year.

They will be good( not great) and be the favorite to win Section 8.

Edina was the #1 seed at the state tournament last season, went 2-1, and won the Consolation hardware.

Edina was the #2 seed this year, lost in the final, and was Runner-up.

Is this the underachieving team of which you speak?

I think Holy Angels has to be on anyone's short list of contenders just below Edina. Hopkins too, as Fons moves to 11th grade and their phenom becomes a freshman. The other teams listed all make sense to me.

Edina will be the favorite for sure.
Be kind. Rewind.

If Lee and Ness are committed, does Roseau have a strong underclassmen core?

Duluth East will be a good team, Losing Boese but still keeping Arbour and Tardy

As for Single A

Virginia will be a good team, still have Grivette, Westin, Lustig and Krebsbach

Hibbing Will be a solid Team: Lose DeCenzo, Estey and Sandstrom, Still have Jamnick, Hanegmon, Vechell, Wagner, Peratelo and Johnson Coming Back, The Question will be who's in Nets, i hear Hibbing has a Really Good Kid in Bantams, Nathan Tromp i believe his name is, that will take this role but who knows

yes they do

however, they lose their big guns...I think they will be really good but I dont want to speak too soon because you take Aaron Ness out of the equation and who knows what damage that might do

Centennial will be good next year, but a lot hinges on Pitlick staying. Him, Lovick and Hess are a hell of a line. Defense will be better led by Schmitz and Stutz. Many good JR's and Sophs this year leaves little room next.

If Pitlick can endure one more season of Stutz getting all his girls for him, they will be very good.

C'mon Tyler, play with your buddies. One more time.

Even I can't agree here. Most likely both Hanowski's are gone.

They had a sophmore James Hughes who looked pretty good. Hopefully Pitlick stays, he is fun to watch. Which upcoming bantam players will be players to watch?

In case nobody noticed, Little Falls was the 2nd best team in the A tourney.

Hanowski comes back and they're top three - if not, still top eight. Boat load of juniors on that team who have been to state twice (and drawn the #1 seed both times).

I know but both Hanowski's. I hope Ben stays. It would be interesting to see how he does without his bro and if someone would step up into Beau's position.

That's assuming Ben Hanowski stays. They return everyone from this year and were the only team to really challenge STA (who loses 9 seniors, and it sounds like their 2 top sophomores as well). With Hanowski gone it's a different story, obviously.

Lee should still be there in the net.

Landman, Oliver, Knockenmous they still got some firepower. they will have defensive problems though. Top 10 team maybe a darkhorse in the tourney but not a favorite

I think Moorhead will produce a very good hockey team next year. They were young this year and their sophomore goalie saw a lot of action. Look for them to contend highly with Roseau for the 8AA title.

Duluth East should be very good again next year. That has been the case for many years now. It is just about winning the big games. The young goalie saw a lot of action and they have a very nice core of Bantam A's moving up next year.

Chris Sylvester may also be gone for LF. Rumor has it the family may move to Warroad where his sister now plays.
