Watcher, that's a dumb statement
West lost to top 12 A teams, that's it, both losses they avenged. Cathedral, who was seeded, lost 6-1 to Tech, to unrated Delano, and unrated Sauk Rapids. Warroad lost to unrated Mound and Osseo. It's who you are more than what you are. That's the problem.
Terrible response

Wrong. Part of it is about who you are, but mostly about what you do. STA is the perfect example. They are a private school and get little respect for what they are but they still got the #1 seed. Yes, they lost to two teams, both they later beat, but who did they beat they can brag about? Lourdes in the section finals? New Prague is their first game? Which is my point. With their schedule at least 3, maybe up to 5, of the other teams playing at state would've been undefeated and probably set scoring records. With their schedule, they needed to be undefeated and win the games they won by quite a bit.
-Cathedral does have some questionable losses, but they do have wins over Hermantown, Little Falls, Denfeld, and LOURDES, plus close losses to Marshall, Warroad and Sauk Rapids in OT, who lost in the semi's to Denfeld.
-Marshall and St Thomas both have AA wins.

They will not be seeding 1-8 next year.
In some sports, they have been seeding 1-4, in others 1-8.
At the MSHSL board meeting in january, they voted to standardize all seeding, making it 1-4.
From the minutes...
Item 6 - Received comments from Emmett Keenan, Athletic Director of St. Cloud Cathedral, regarding tournament seeding. Keenan requested that the seeding policy be uniform and to never seed all teams.
Item 13 - Approved tournament seeding whereby the top four teams for those sports and classes who ask for their tournament to be seeded will follow an electronic seeding process for teams 1-4 with teams 5-8 being "drawn". This is the only seeding option beginning with the 2008-09 school year.

C'mon people - who cares? This is the most prestigious High School Tournament (in any sport) in the country! When these kids can play that caliber of hockey, it doesn't really matter if they are seeded or not. #8 can beat #1 on any given night. I didn't give HM much of a chance to beat the Sheep last nite (time to open mouth & change feet). Whoever is gonna take the title has to beat 3 other teams to do it - doesn't matter who thy are. If it's just a matter of not hurting someone's feelings - tough bounce. People complaining about being seeded #8 should realize there are 147 other teams in the state that wouldn't mind one bit if that's where they were.
