Goalie and defense at the state tourney
Has there ever been a team that did not allow any goals for the entire state tourney? Can it happen?
Re: Goalie and defense at the state tourney
Why yes. In fact it has happened. Recently too!riverskater wrote:Has there ever been a team that did not allow any goals for the entire state tourney? Can it happen?
I'll wait for the superfan of this team to fill you in on the details.

Don't get too cocky? Last I checked the Rams were undefeated since they won the championship last year...hockeyfan510 wrote:YO Roseau fans your no longer playing Crap teams you have no chance of not letting in a goal in the tournment yes you are a great team but don't get to cocky anything can happen

First of all, Roseau has not been playing Crap teams. I think people in the metro have looked down their noses at a lot of very talented out-state teams.hockeyfan510 wrote:YO Roseau fans your no longer playing Crap teams you have no chance of not letting in a goal in the tournment yes you are a great team but don't get to cocky anything can happen

Secondly, all the teams in this tournament are good and any team can beat another team on a given night.
Thirdly, I don't know whether riverskater is from Roseau or not...but being a Roseau fan I get nervous when I hear people making such bold predictions. (I do not think that the Rams are going to take anyone lightly, though. Hopefully they don't spend much time reading all the speculation and hype on this "bored.") I expect the boys will bring their lunchpails and display their characteristic blue-collar work ethic. If they play their best, it will be difficult for opposing teams to score on them. I do think that Blaine will be a challenge for them. In my opinion, Blaine is the best of the unseeded teams. (There wasn't any advantage to getting the top seed.) This will be no easy ride for the Rams. They will have to earn every W.

The Rams have everything going for them to seal three shutouts. They have the best statistical goalie in the history of the sport, and they have Ness. Will they do it? It usually happens unsuspectingly, so I wouldn't be suprised if they don't, or do. Lee certainly can improve upon the four goals he gave up last year.
Roseau's won 47 in a row, they have every right to be a little cocky.hockeyfan510 wrote:YO Roseau fans your no longer playing Crap teams you have no chance of not letting in a goal in the tournment yes you are a great team but don't get to cocky anything can happen

There's confidence (which Roseau has reason to be), then there's cocky.
If the suggestion is that Roseau is going to pull off a feat that has been done ONCE in the 62 year history of the tournament - 3 shutouts - that's cocky and you're making yourselves look ridiculous, which is a disservice to the Roseau reputation of being a knowledgeable hockey town.
That's like driving to the Metrodome and predicting that you're going to see Boof Bonser throw a perfect game.

5th Line Center, you are right on. I don't think the boys pay any attention to these discussions, nor should they. I am not from Roseau as evidenced by the fact that I didnt know that there had been a team that has had a shutout the entire state tourny. I really respect anyone who could pull off such a feat. I do think that smaller northern teams (in any sport) do not get the respect they deserve...even when they win...So Go Rams, Warriors, Flyers and LumberJacks!5th Line Center wrote:First of all, Roseau has not been playing Crap teams. Haha that made me chuckle. With that being said I think seeds2-4 all have a good chance at winning it all. But that was still a funny comment!!!!riverskater wrote:They won't at state either.Roseauverrated wrote:Last I checked the Rams didn't play anyone good the whole year.Dickie wrote: Don't get too cocky? I dont know if you watched Hockey Day in Minnesota, but they beat Blaine, who is in the state tournament, that usually makes them good, and they won state last year, and returned almost everyone from that team.Roseauverrated wrote:Last I checked the Rams didn't play anyone good the whole year.Dickie wrote: Don't get too cocky?
