First of all, I have no blog so that would make it hard to do so.hockeyxprt1 wrote:Yea, he really sucked shutting down Edina, Shattuck and Minnetonka. You obviously have no ability to judge talent. Stick with that blog of yours.Goldy Gopher wrote:I will continue to say this. BSM's goalie is not great, he's not even good. He's been putting up great numbers against very good teams and I can't take that away from him but how he's doing it I don't know. He's slow and is out of position quite often.hockeyjunkie2 wrote:Lee, Hakan, and Phillipi are the top 3 I would think. But Woodbury has a good goalie also he could play well for them and get them the win. BSM also has a great goalie I liked him against Tonka.
Second of all, you have just proven yourself as the one who has no ability to judge talent. If you knew anything about goaltending and what good goalies look like when they play you would realize that he is not one of them.

Here's what I rate em:
1) Lee
2) Yumu
2) Phillippi
4) Harper
5) Cashetta
6) BSM goalie
7) Cloquet goalie
8) Wigen
Lee is the best untill you beat him plus he has great poise. Yumu is hot and continues to carry his team, and give LS the potential upset possibility. I've always been impressed with flip, yes he has an off game and the past 2 years hasn't played well at the X, but this is his last shot and Im thinking and hoping he comes to play. Harper impresses me everytime I see him, it'll be interesting to see if he can match his performance against roseau again. Some people may say Cashetta is overrated but I dont think so, he makes the big save and yes may give up a weak goal, but that happens to every goalie. The Benilde and Cloquet goalies are both good, I just think the other goalies are a little bit better. Wigen to me is overrated... He hasn't impressed me when I've seen him play, he looks slow and doesn't really come out of the net. I think he might get blasted open in the tourney.

Lee is a very talented goalie.windtomyback wrote:Goldy........who would you judge a talented goalie then?
Hakan Yumusaklar is also very talented.
Brady Hjelle was unreal last year.
Lucas Johnson from Litchfield has impressed me the couple times that I've seen him play.
Would you like more?

Wont any goalie? Not one of the eight sucks. At first thought I would have said Harper from Blaine at #8, but then come to think of it he did beat Centennial twice and have a decent season. Lakeville S, Pioneers, and the Rams all are on the backs of great tenders. We will see on Saturday.PASTRAPIDSFAN wrote:Lee Is good but put some quality shots on him and get him moving he will faulter
To make a bet though, Lee stands on his head.

IF we are talking best goaltender, ability wise...the list goes like this
1a. Yumusaklar (the main reason his team is where it is today, 3 year starter with phenomenal skills who has been under everyones radar because of the quality of the team in front of him for the 1st two years...finally gets to shine under the big lights Thursday night with his team)
1b. Lee (another phenomenal goaltender...Lee has posted incredible stats in his first two years...hes a great goalie on a great defensive team..the combination of those two brings you the stats he has...Hes tough to beat with the D Corp in front of him.
a long ways down to #3
Phillippi
Caschetta
(2 goalies that owe the guys in front of them most of the credit for their success. Both have great stats becuase of what is in front of them, but have shown to crack in the big game.
etc.

That is just the way Wigen plays. He is relaxed and calm. I have never seen him on his but anytime I have watched him play. I don't know if I've ever seen a more relaxed and just laid back goalie. He gave his team a chance in that Rosemount game in the first. It could have been about 4-1 after that period no joke. He made some really quality saves and he ended up shutting the door after giving up two in the first.ImissMYhockey wrote:Here's what I rate em:

BTW how can you think he is overrated. When do you hear anybody ever talking about him? Yeah maybe back in the Rosemount Woodbury thread but that was to compare Morgan and him. I'm pretty sure he's not overrated. He may be in fact underrated just like David Eddy who is on his team. He gives his team a shot to win every single game. He didn't have a 17-2 record in the regular season for no reason.

People think he is a great goalie and I disagree. He was nominated for all state and I think that that is a joke. He is a good goalie dont get me wrong but from watching himt this year and what somewhat last year, he never impressed me and got me to say, "wow that goalie is good."heybuddy wrote:That is just the way Wigen plays. Proof, what proof? You all talk like you know better than the next guy. I don't care what a good goalie "looks like", it's the end result that counts. And he seems to have "looked" pretty good judging by the results of those games. Lee
I say Lee is hands down the best there at state. My question is has anyone ever started off a highschool career with the stats Lee has put up? No matter how good a team is in front of you at some point you see solid shots on net and time and time again he has showed hes worth being #1. Should he win the title with Roso again this season I think any debate should end from that point on.

How silly. The debate will just begin because Ness will be gone.Warroad97 wrote:I say Lee is hands down the best there at state. Yes Weston will be there and a few others including some of the D coaching.
The amazing thing about what I have seen with Roseau this year is that they look better short handed than during the rest of the game

I'm only going to comment on the goalies I've actually seen:
Lee is extremely good. He is always in good position and rarely gets beat on the first shot.
Philippi is a good goalie who at times raises his game to the level of greatness and at other times looks awful. If he plays well, I think Hill has the best chance of knocking off Roseau or Edina, but I can't really say I expect him to do so.
Meyer has looked good in the few games I've seen him play. He was amazing against Hill early in the year, making 23 saves in the second period alone.
Harper looked very good against Centennial in the section final, but you have to be a little wary of a sophomore under the bright lights for the first time.
Wigen seems to be a solid goaltender. He doesn't do anything spectacular, but he keeps the puck out of the net.
Caschetta is similar to Philippi, talented but inconsistent. He was great against Minnetonka in their first game, but he has been prone to giving up the soft goal.
