I believe that he would have rather gone to Edina in the first place, however his mom had other ideas. I think he had been contemplating a return to Edina for a year or so, and being the QB at Edina pushed it over the edge. I was on his baseball team two years ago, and that's the impression that I got.

This game was by far the best hockey game I've ever seen. There was so much talent on the ice I didn't know who to watch.

Does Michael Becker (sp?) always play that phenomenial? Is he going anywhere next year?

B'Villes student section takes the award for best student section of the year, and one of the best I've ever seen. Extremely original and everyone was involved in ALL the chants.

B'ville was outcoached!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This team was not Yanni's team it was the 1st lines team, and when they were ineffective he did not know how to motivate them,to bad this was a great and very deep group of kids, yanni was handed the key's to a caddy for 2 years, now we shall see if he can coach
The better team lost in this one. Edina is not that good!
umm.... NO!!!!!! All three of bvilles goals were fluke goals(with 2 being the refs fault). Edina is obviously better, and dont say otherwise. You must be pretty in roseau to say something like that.

I dont seem to understand what everyone has against edina. Some people think they are just like a private school. How???? What did they ever do??? and dont say that their student section is bad, just listen to minnetonka's.

I don't see losing in the section finals, in overtime to a great team can bring a response like that. They defeated Holy Angels last year as underdogs and came as close as you can this year. I doubt Burnsville has had two back to back years like this since Osiecke left. From an outsider I don't know if you can expect anymore from your coach.

It's a shame we can't simply appreciate the game as for hockeys fans, it was an incredible game. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Burnsville's coach and hope they are able to keep him around. For that night it was HS hockey at its best and both teams are to be commended.... Best of luck to all the Burnsville Seniors and thank you for some great hockey.

i would like to know how mcduff on burnsville is not going to play for any college next year(d2 or d3). He played the best game i have seen a defensman play all year, and of all the scouts in mariucci on wednesday, someone had to be impressed.

Better team won....and I am a Burnsville fan and I hate to say anything positive for Edina, but they were the better team. This is not to say that Burnsville didn't play an amazing game...it was very even thorugh regulation...but Edina had more to bring.

I don't know if Barnes was hurt or not, but he has played very similar in most games this season. He does not help much in the D zone and he has not shown a ton of versatility in his Offensive game , his line (Hendo, Perisic) played the same style all year and when it worked it was amazing...but when it didn't work...it was a game killer (see losses to Eagan and Mahtomedi etc..)

But Barnes and Hendo are still a couple of the top players in High school hockey and I have no doubt they will be a great College players.

The good news for B'ville is that they have a line returning next year in May, Pearson and King who were by far the most productive line in sections, and they have great porspects coming from a very solid JV team and very solid returning goaltending and excellent coaches.

Bville will probably get a shot at Edina again next year, can only hope that Edina wins Championship and some of their big guns opt up to the USHL.

Is Sturlagson the goalie your saying is coming back or are you talking about the other kid that played JV?

I think there are actually four D2 teams playing in a D3 league out East. I'll look it up and get back to you.

But the point of your post is correct. There is major college and non-scholarship D3.

Yes Eagles4Lakeville, Sturlaugson is one returner, as well as Schlink who was very good at JV, they will easlily be 2 of the better goalies in the Lake by far

But you can go ahead and rip Sturlagson, and pump up Arnst at North, (Although Thomas was just as good early on) you gotta give props to your boys, and rip those that leave...we all understand

P.S. I think Arnst is very good...but if he don't leave the "Randy cloud" he will continue to be on the up&Down rollercoaster which can kill a goalie ..

If Arnst and Thomas were playing under better circumstances they could be much better, but neither has done well this season and both can probably expect the Lindgren kid to get time next year...his being on the section roster was a sign of things to come.
