obviously Chris Student from BSM. Lead the state in assists and also lead his team to the tourney.

This is usually given to a senior so I'd suspect Gardiner or Student would be two top candidates as would Tyler Barnes.

Who cares!!!!
If it is like the girls selection than it should go to Danny Mattson. My pick, but He is a Junior, would be Zach Budish. Played every big game as a big gamer. Always came through with the play or hit or whatever was needed.
A total team player. :x :x :x :x :x :x

I agree with Edina resident rbk2090 ------ Zach Budish.
Since he is a Junior I'll go with ----- Everson!?!

Doubt it. Too many character issues/bad reputation for a major media outlet too honor him as the player of the year. I hope its Student because he was able to lead his team to state, something Jake Gardiner was unable to do. However, I think Gardiner will get it because he's a better pro prospect.

Well, all season myFOXhockey was listing the kid from Park Rapids in the points leaders from the metro. So, him. But if he's from the metro then so is Ness.

The Star Tribune metro player of the year can go to juniors or anyone and I think it will be between Budish and Gardiner. Gardiner will probably take it.

Student if it has to a senior or Zierke both are going to state (BSM),
and both are in the top 20 scorers. Big Players play great in big games. Check out their stats in sectional final. :P :P :P :P :P

They don't have to be seniors to win Metro Player of the Year.

About 10 - 15 years ago, Kahlid El-Amin of Minneapolis North basketball won it as a junior and senior.

Gardiner should be the Metro Player of the Year in my mind.
Ben Dover plays BOTH ways.

I'm not surprised his name was brought up, and I am not surprised someone shut him down, everyone has something to say about his attitude, sure it is bad, I hope you relise that hockey gets the best out of people, you need to relise that it is the game of hockey, and that everyone loses their temper, if you look from his sophmore year to now you would surprised how much he's changed, so give the man some credit.

I saw gardiner and Student play and Gardiner is hands down player of the year. He stood out over everyone on the rink, and he was making something happen everytime he touched the puck.
