Re: EP and Burnsville to advance from Albert Lea
So much for your prediction.AverageHockeyJoe wrote:Eden Prairie and Burnsville will advance from Albert Lea to State. The way that Edina limped in to the Regional (one win, two losses and a tie) will come back to haunt them.
Be kind. Rewind.

Regionals
Here is a little recap of what I saw this weekend. There were no surprises, the D6 teams were awesome to watch. EP and Edina were very good, Burnsville right with them. They play a much faster, stronger game than the other teams were used to. To use some analogies for the 2 state bound teams, EP reminded me of Walter Payton, best at what they do and all business. Edina reminded me of T.O., also very good, but quite a bit of additional baggage. The D4 teams were quite a bit more competitive than D1, and it took Edina a little longer to deflate their balloons. New Ulm played Burnsville very tight in the opening round except for about 6 min. of the 1st period. Faribault kept Edina at bay in the 1st period and still played tough throughout the game as Edina buried their chances. EP was an absolute pleasure to watch. Good luck to those teams at the big tourney.
