I believe an iculous is plural for a type of flatulent. The singular form of the word is "iculii". The term lost favor in the late 1960's during the herbal generation's radical period. Many terms have since been derived from this period to mean the same thing. Terms like baby boomer, ripped, cut the cheese and "woah, dude" use to be common place. It has finally evolved to the point where the term "shart" is most prevalent. So, a RED iculous, simply means that you should see your primary care physician as soon as possible.

Maybe the originator of the word Rediculous, actually meant to write a different word? I have done some research on the possibilities:
Redoculus = an auburn oval shaped window located at the top of a dome
or
Redocellus = a eye-like spot commonly found on a peacock's tail
or
Redeuclase = a rare gemstone made of aluminum/beryllium silicate usually yellow, green or blue (a red one would be invaluable)
of
Redicarus = commonly thought to be the Japanese pronunciation but in fact, was the color of Daedalus' son after he flew too close to the sun and fell to the sea (greek mythology)
Just a thought.

Careful ... careful ... this is dangerously close to revolving into a venus/mars debate, surely to cause the thread lock up.DMom wrote:very, very good punchinbag.
All I can say little boys (and men) and bodily functions, what is the attraction???? and why does it fade when there is a diaper involved?
To redirect, any one know which schools have the Iculous as their team mascot? Isle, Nimbus?

An understandable mistake, Punch. In actuality, these mascots are commonly known as the "Scratching Iculous." (hence the red).punchinbag wrote:AimHigh,
What about the ICU Louse? Close, but I will Google to check if my memory is correct.
Sorry, I mistakenly thought that the mascot for Inland California University was the louse, but in fact they are called the Fighting Lice.
I will keep searching during my lunch.
Coincidentally, though, word on the street has it that one of the newly added teams to the Toddler Choice League has adopted the Fighting Lice as their mascot.
Off topic, your research techniques are impeccable. Out of curiosity, do you ever Google yourself when you're board (sic)?
I will follow you Tom-e-boy, if you can find a frosty one. Mammamia, stay right behind me, but watch out for punchy's big hands.tomASS wrote:as long as there is a piece of cheese to find at the end of one of the pathways (and a cold refreshment to boot ) we should be ok.DMom wrote:have we fallen into a labyrinth we can't get out of??
It's off to see the Iculous, the big, red, Iculous.
To the Liffey we go, to see the show and the big, red, Iculous!

We have fallen and we cannot get up.

The term Red Iculous has gone through many definitional changes in the past year. Finally, the Minnesota Hockey Board of Directors, whilst in a half crazed drunken stupor, have come up with the correct definition of the word. It is as follows:
RED ICULOUS (pronounced duh-my-ohhh) Derived from the English phrase "bonehead move" or "jump the shark"; meaning "to come up with and idea so incredibly stupid, that a 1st grader would find it silly". Noun Example: The decision by MN Hockey going to a single site tourney was certainly a Red Iculous of biblical proportions. Verb Example: The MN Hockey Board really red-iculoused this decision up. I wish they would quit red-iculousing around and make the right decisions for all of Minnesota, and not just the red-iculousing Metro!
This definition brought to you by Woody's Slight Better Than Average Latin-Scandanavian Quisine. Official Sponsor of Minnesota Hockey representing all Latin-Scandanvian restaurants and Uff Da Tacos everywhere. All rights reserved.

I'm truly surprised that this thread has not been taken to task for only focusing on the Red Iculous. . . .
OTC, where's the team spirit, I would have thought you'd be advocating the merits of the Green (cake-eating) Iculous. . . . and TA, what about the Purple Iculous. . . .
What a great thread, I laughed more this morning than I have in a while, thanks for the entertainment!!!

To the (x)Celly we go, to see the show and the big, red, Iculous! [/quote]
We have to keep telling them we were only funning,
we didn't really want to see the ones in the running
