I doubt it. According to him Bagley will be a #7 or 8 seed at sometime in their franchise history and be better than Park Rapids(which has maybe been the case 1 time 25 years ago before PR had a Varsity team). Apparently this'll all happen within the next 3 years...SiouxRecruit wrote:maybe elliott will have a "logical" analysis to look at
Stay tuned on this "logical" assessment...

I'll start off by saying it was a tough game to watch, obviously because i was wanting a panther win and obviously they were stomped. It started out with prolly the worst possible thing for PR, and that was to give up 2 quick goals just 5 minutes into the game. From then on they had to try to catch up,(should answer any questions why Lehrke was on the ice so much, If you are down by 2 or more goals and are coaching pr in a section game, you gotta have lehrke out there as much as possible) after the two goals PR had a few chances, i can recall lehrke making several tap in type back door passes that were fanned on by PR as they failed to notch a goal in the first. I think the shots were 10-8 favoring EGF
The second started out good for PR with some pressure and a few chances. And they eventually ended up getting a Goal from the point that was tipped or hit and EGF player. But right after that EGF responded and capitalized on a turnover to make it 3-1 and a few minutes later score the eventually game winner to make it 4-1. a little later in the period Lehrke wound it up taking it end to end toasting a the EGF defense, cut the corner and was literally grabbed by either his bucket or his shoulders and thrown to the ice on a partial break away....there was somewhat of a long talk by the officials whether there should be a pen. shot or not and they elected no penalty shot which i felt was a horrible call because lehrke would have had a great scoring chance and would have got a shot off, but was raped from behind on a break away. Soon after EGF would tally another goal. Then PR cut it to 5-2 with lehrke putting one to the roof on the EGf tender. once again though egf came right back and banged home two more and headed to the locker room with a 7-2 lead.
Pr came out in the third and scored a few minutes in, Lehrke beat a few guys behind the net and hit Mcmorrow coming down the slot for a one T and made it 7-3, but soon after for the third time, right after pr scored egf scored a minute later.
Pr had more problems tonight than you could shake a stick at. They couldnt get the puck out of the zone unless their first line was on the ice. I believe lehrke played everyother shift until about 10 min left in the third, he missed his every other shift. Pr's goaltending was shakey all night, too bad for smith and the panthers because smith played very well in last years semi final game.
As far as egf, A little impressed with them tonight. They had more depth up front than i expected, i couldnt tell much of a difference between there 1,2,3 lines. They played lehrke like they needed too, I dont want to say they shut him down, because he had a goal and an apple, maybe two apps, and was all over the ice and by far the most noticable players. But, the thing they did was forced lehrke to makes plays and dish the puck, they didnt allow him to get too many shots as they always had a guy or two all over him. Visnor is prolly one of the cheapest players i have ever seen, but thats alright cause his hockey career will be done here shortly, although i do like his potential, you can tell he lacks self disciplin.
Scouts filled the Mini Ralph. I saw eades from UND, Blue from Mankato, Serrotorre from BSU, Guentzel from the Gophers, Motzko from the Huskies and a Scout from U conn. The grillos, (chuch and Dino) were also there. After the game i saw Eades, Blue and the grillos talking to Lehrke's parents for a long time and then eventually talking to Zach. It will be very interesting to see where he goes.
It's a tough way to go out for the panthers, no doubt they played one of their worst games tonight and EGF played well.
The better team won tonight...good luck to EGF

I gave my analysis prior to the game in another thread.SiouxRecruit wrote:maybe elliott will have a "logical" analysis to look at
PR needed something positvie(s) early on and had to keep EGF off the scoreboard early.
PR did not have enough experience in playing this type of game. Playing B hockey at a lesser level and their schedule did not expose them to enough pressure - stress is a difficult thing to overcome. And they need to do it at the youth level and then at the HS level.
Hopefully, this season will give tehm the opportunity in the future to be inthose situations. Right now the PR hockey leadership needs to grab hold of 'this season' and keep the momentum going.
I hope they do, but it is difficult (especially in small towns - limited resources) to make the jump to another level.
I hope they get a HS game with Bemidji - beign that close they shold play, regardless of the level of each team.
I would hope they would get a game with Warroad, Little Falls, and Apollo. Perhaps Alex and Fergus.
But bottom line, it was a great year, it got people excited. The season ends on a loss for everyone but one (two, counting both A and AA).
So congrats Panthers and your faithful, boistoruos fans! It was a job well done.

He absolutely loves announcing football and hockey games--we have over the years learned to appreciate him. He is much better at periodically reporting the score, situation, teams including towns (turn on and hear only the Mustangs playing the Cougars you wonder who they are) than he use to be. He's set in his ways (did you hear him call a "two line pass"), but we love him and his enthusiasm. Often he rigs up an antenae and broadcasts away games from where ever he can find a place to stand including in the stands (he's had to appologize for some fans language that got picked up over the air). Once a puck knocked off his head phones, so he built a nice announcer's booth in PR with separate rooms for him/visiting radio announcers/time keeper-scorer... He is entertaining, as are a lot of the comments you have posted about him here. And no, he's not going to hang himself!

The season ends in a loss for all but 6 teams, Champs, Third and Consolation in both A & AA
