Do we have a time for this game yet? I know it's Thursday at Mariucci, but do we know the time?

MSHSL website says Burnsville v. Edina at 8pm. Minnetonka v. Benilde is at 6pm. What a great night of hockey this will be!

B-ville played us good earlier in the season but that was a sloppy game for us. Edina is HOT and during sections there playing better then they have all season and barring Caschetta getting nervous or our jr. line getting in an accident on the way to Mariucci or BIG (whereever it is) then i would say Edina will win, 5-2. Brad Hand will not know what to do when we pass right through mid ice for the break away.

Budish is a MONSTER and ready to take it home, and Everson is ready to score another 3 before state.

Go Hornets!!!!!! Hopefully see everyone there on the 27th!

There is two potential outcomes for this game. The first outcome is Edina wins 5-2. For this to happen the junior line for edina will score 4 goals. two goals by everson and two by budish with an empty net. This will happen if Edina dominates the physical game. this is because i have seen burnsville play six times this year and they hate being hit. edina must also look for a lift from there first line early because the longer bville is in the game the tougher it is to beat them. Also If burnsville's first line doesn't show up to play and edina is in there face all game it could be more of a blow out.

However if Bville's top line plays like they have been lately the score will be 4-3 Burnsville in a thriller. They need to establish pressure quick and not stop. There third line also has to be able to skate with the hornets and they must play extremely physical. Also there goalie must stand on his head and they cant give everson the shots from the slot or it will be over quickly. One more key point for the blaze is not to take dumb penalties and there special teams and first line must win it for them. If they do all this and there first line puts on a show it will be the blaze to the X.

I think the game will go the way Edina needs it to go for them to win.
Final score Edina 5-2 however Edina will outshoot them by 20. Barnes and hendo not enough in this one and they will go on to have great college success better luck next year blaze.

i think burnsville gonna win this one. They have a knack for beating out top ranked teams. AHA last year, maybe edina this year. If their goalie is hot burnsville will win. If not edina

I think Burnsville will lose, the chemicals from the team's horrible hair dye job will seep into their brains leaving then unable to play well.

A dye job already? That seems premature. Thought that occurred once one actually got a date to state...

Anyway, I'm not quite sure on what you mean by "keep the stupid posts to a minimum" because I believe i have posted 0 of those....but I'll read through them all and check :)

Dude stop talking like you know everything. Just because you go on here and update this every 5 min. looking at how many posts grizz makes. Get a life dude seriuosly. Blaze know what they have to do, and its gonna be the best game of the season by far. Thats all im predicting.

P.S. Grizzmint is my guy. I see you.

do we see a trend?

olympic size sheet plays into burnsvilles speed perfectly

blaze 5
hornets 4
no, an olympic size sheet does not play to burnsville. If you are burnsville your are praying that the much better hornet forwards dont wear down your sluggish D. With that much ice, Buddish/Gaardner/Everson will show why they are the D1 crew. Barnes and Hendo will be shut down by Gleason and Baker, and when they get up the animal strength of Leer will put them back down. Burnsville doesnt stand a chance, they are the wrong type of team against Edina.

Hornets put out the blaze in a 6-2 route.

AVENGE THE JAGS....

Talk about a premature dye job, Holy Angels had dyed their hair before their game Saturday vs. Edina. Anyways, I am gonna have to go with Edina 4-2 over Burnsville on this one. Edina is just too strong, but should be a good game that could go either way.

hahahaha, devich i love it. ya criticize burnsville all you want. Try to remember that they took edina to OT without gustavson or ames. Becker is playing nice hockey, and yes the olympic size rink does help burnsville. They only have 3 of the fastest skaters in the state.
i still like burnsville in a close one.....

dyed hair

Post by veritas »

I think somehow or another the intention of the dyed hair got twisted into a cocky premature action. I understand a lot of teams do it for state, but I'm pretty sure the boys from Bville did it just as a team thing prior to playoffs. They dyed their hair before the Rosemount game, which was another big game for them. I know we Burnsville fans can get a bit cocky and out of hand, but were not ignorant. Our team has to earn our spot at state just as Edina does. Either way, this game promises to be an absolute blast to watch, just as the last one was. I'll withhold any predictions beyond the fact that the Ucci is gonna be absolutely rockin' the whole game through. Best of luck to both teams, but I cant lie, I'd love to see Bville come out on top in this one.

I haven't seen Burnsville play this season, and I only saw Edina play two periods. My gut tells me Burnsville wins by a goal late in the 3rd or early in the first OT. Just a feeling.

Burnsville will win this in OT because that is how they do things. They will probably be outshot, but Becker is the better goalie right now. Burnsville 4 - Cake Eaters 3.

I dont know about Becker being a better goalie right now. I saw both 2AA semi final games on Saturday, and B'ville's goalie seemed quite rattled.

I would love to see the Blaze win this one. Not only because I like them and I don't like Edina as much, but because it would help my bracket. Burnsville showed a lot of character to come out with a win over Jefferson in the semi-finals and they may need that again. They probably will trail at some point in this game and will need to remain calm. Becker will have to be great in goal and Hendrickson and Barnes will have to do their thing. The biggest question will be can a role player step up? If the answer is yes, we will be in for a doozie.

Be ready for a long game if they call Burnsville for any penalties. Hendrickson felt the need to discuss at length with the ref even the most obvious penalties on Saturday.
