West 6
Lourdes 2
West will score alot on Lourdes' goalie with L and L. Bruggeman sp? will have a decent game, will not see as many shots as Lourdes gave in the New Prague game, but i think he will get scored on when Lourdes has two of few scoring chances. I think the West offense will be too busy in Lourdes zone, that every time Lourdes gets it out they will either dump or ice.
so pretty much West on offense most the night, and Lourdes trying to keep L and L from becoming a factor, which of course they will be one.

I was at both games today and I believe that from what i saw that lourdes is the better team, was kind of disappointed because of all the hype about west but really wasnt that impressed. Bruggerman is solid in net, Leivermann has alot of talent, but Litchfield really didnt stand out to me (besides winding up about twenty times from the point on the PP and missing the net by a mile.) To say the least im goin 5-3 Lourdes (EN)... should be a great game though
It depends on how the game is officiated, the guys in the Lourdes/NP let them play. Lourdes does a lot of hooking and in the offensive end to create turnovers. If they get away with that again West has to move the puck quickly, New Prague didn't until OT then created some space and chances. If they (Lourdes) can't do that West has the skill to beat them.
One thing I don't get is the mindset that if you take away a scoring chance with a hook it's automatically a penalty but if you cause a turnover and create a scoring chance with a hook it's usually not a penalty. Either way you're breaking the rules to gain an adavantage.

you mean other than the time he blew by royce (one of the top defensemen in the section) catching a backhand pass from leivermann and burying it backhand in one move to go up 4-2. kid can play. eagles still take them at the rec 4-3.franchize_03 wrote:I was at both games today and I believe that from what i saw that lourdes is the better team, was kind of disappointed because of all the hype about west but really wasnt that impressed. You wre watching a very fatigued NP team after Lapic left and that is why Lourdes speed looked so good. West will roll three lines like they did in the 2nd and 3rd period against AL. Lourdes 2nd line was a mismatch for them today against NP. It won't be that way against West.hockey McLovin wrote:i got to give it to lourdes they are just the much better skating team watching the two games today and west is not a good skating team at all and they dont play well in their d zone but should still be a great game. 3-2 ot

You obviously havn't seen west's PP before. Nystrom and AL knew exactly what West tries to do on their PP. They know how to stop it. When the fancy tic-tac-toe plays weren't working on the PP you have to improvise. In that situation again, he'll miss the net maybe 1 out of 10 times. He's a great player, see Eagle's postfranchize_03 wrote:I was at both games today and I believe that from what i saw that lourdes is the better team, was kind of disappointed because of all the hype about west but really wasnt that impressed. West is rolling right now and proved it last night. AL was on their heels the entire 3rd period, and clearly did not have the depth to skate with West late in the game. West is well conditioned, and are more disciplined as of late than many on this forum are willing to give them credit for. They now have the rematch they were hoping for: Lourdes. In round 1, they were missing 2 of their top forwards, and Leiverman was in his first game back from sitting a lengthy suspension (and it showed). And they only lost by 1, after building a 2 goal lead. Round 2 goes to West: 6-3! It's The Scarlet's Year!! Last year they learned to lose. And it hurt! Lourdes will learn that this year, and will be back with a vengeance in 2009. But for now, the Scarlets are destined for State!

it's spratte not spatte. if you're going to compliment him at least get the spelling right on his name. yes he's the best defenseman in the section and one of the reasons i believe lourdes will win a close, hard fought game, against west. i said royce is one of the best in the section. he'll be all big-9 and on the great 8 roster. i was making a point that litchfield was beating someone down the ice that doesn't get beat very often. i wouldn't put litchfield in the category of great players, but he is definately a forward you're going to have to be very aware of whenever he's on the ice, along with leivermann. despite his D1 offer i'd say leivermann has a ways to go before he ever skates at that level. lourdes has a better overall defensive group than west and better depth at the forwards, which is why they won the earlier game against west. both goalies will be hard to beat. eagles by 1.hockey McLovin wrote:wow he can blow by a kid who cant skate, good for him and spatte is the best defense man in this section that kid will take control of this gamefranchize_03 wrote:
