These teams have played two games this year.... Alex has scored a total of one goal in 6 periods.... I wouldn't say the goaltending edge is that dramatic.
The way the Cards played in their last game against LF they should have some confidence coming into this one, but I still see the Flyers coming out on top in a close affair ... something along the lines of 3-1
I don't think the goaltending edge is that dramatic especially after the two weak goals that Hemmingway gave up against FF. It will still be a close game but LF just has too much fire power.
Alright, if the goals that hemingway gave up were weak. then what in the world do you call the goals that sperl gave up. Hemingway faced alot more quality shots and gave up 2 goals. sperl faced very few quality shots and gave up 3. Alex definately has a huge advantage with goaltending after I saw that performance by sperl and the performance by hemingway

Not to nitpick, but according to Rinkwriter, Apollo had 5 quality scoring chances in the game and Fergus Falls only had 3 quality scoring chances.
Hemingway is a very solid goalie... I don't think anyone would argue that point. Sperl has had his shaky moments (Hermantown last year for example), but I think it is "whistling in the dark" when people talk like he is a total sieve.
The Flyers have a three season State Tourney streak at stake. This game should be a tense match-up. Too bad Hemmingway didn't complete his transfer to LF like he had planned and this game would be a non-event. Flyers are playing great hockey again after a late season swoon, but Alex is on a good roll also. It boils down to the Flyers 1st line against the Alex D and goalie. Nobody has stopped them yet....
