how many shots does he see in a game?, and more importantly how good of shots?norcon wrote:I've beem at games, seeing both teams play this season and I feel like Roseau has the better chance of going the distance. Edina does have more individual talent, but they also have to get out of the toughest section in the state. Roseau has the hardest working team I've seen and they can shut you down defensively, plus the fact they have maybe the best goaltender in the state. Another plus for the Ram's - They will not be as tested coming out of their section.
Why Roseau wont win

I think 1AA (Century) proved itself quite well at the X last year...24Boarding wrote:Roso wont win because they wont get lucky and draw 1AA in the same bracket again. *fingers crossed*
I'm seeing a theme to the Roso game plan by the way. Not only should teams strive to maximize their ability to win, they also should put as much energy into minimizing their chances to lose. Roso has mastered the second half of this equation. Is that the secret pyramid we hear about?
Let's hope that the random draw for state bracket placement at least has them finally pitted against quality competition this year. Heck- some of the metro section playoffs were tougher than Roso's road through state last year.
It would be obviously easy to predict Roseau not to win...AGAIN...who / when was the last team to win back to back????? It would be a dam near miracle to win it...AGAIN. Real rocket science there.
As for the schedule....it is basically the same as 2007, 1999, 1990....for the love of sheep it is irrelevent.
So what if they had added Centennial & Holy Angels to their schedules....based on Moorheads performance VS....Roseau probably wins both this year...but I suppose they would have gotten lucky and cherry picked the "soft metros". Can't logic with citidots.
Last year at this time it was all AHA, EDINA, MOORHEAD....obviously any quality team playing well at the end of the year can "win it all", enjoy the ride....some team is going 6 for 6....Could it be the RAMS...yes, but it could be Hopkins, Minnetonka, Burnsville, Duluth East...who knows...
GOOD LUCK TO ALL

Must still be sore about losing to the Bears earlier this year. That's understandable. Not saying I would rather see Edina or Hill win because well, no one would. I think what Roseau does with their enrollment and still putting together the team that they do is an amazing accomplishment, I would just love to see what the way to cocky Roseau fans have to say if they do lose.east hockey wrote:Hey, someday folks will root against White Bear Lake, too. We've basically been asked to continue to bow to the Ram greatness and ignore the fact that many city teams were putting together some very impressive squads this year and competing at a high level. In addition, some metro based individuals have had very solid years but as we try to discuss we continue to be told that "Lock it up - Ness is God." As we would champion our favorite city club, some flannel brain would chime in with the old and tired "we're the champs until someone beats us" garbage.
I'm looking forward to joining the party when they are defeated this year. Nothing against the Ro-so-so boys; only the flannel brain fans who have saddle sores because they rode one championship season way longer than should be humanly possible.

Just a couple of items to clarify. First. Roseau is Roseau and always has been. Just because the people on this message board like to 'hype' up Roseau and it's 24 hour North Rink, winning tradition, several state championships, skating when you are 3, etc. etc. Anyone from Roseau knows it is what it is and has been this year, last year, 10 years ago, 20 years ago, etc. etc. The North Rink being open didn't just come about since they won the Championship (oh yeah they still are the Champs!). Roseau has had 3 rinks since the Rams' Center was built. Which by the way has just produced a State Girls' appearance! Roseau has a hockey team like all others, one that has it's ultimate goal to go to the State Tournament. Why should this year be any different? If anything all the pressure that has been put on this team is probably it's biggest competitor. Kids' in Roseau, both boys and girls look up to the kids that are on the hockey teams as role models. These kids are good, all around kids. Many of them play 3 sports a year and are also doing great in school. They don't only strive for excellence on the ice, they strive for excellence in all that they do! That is why they have a great chance at succeeding again t his year. So if you are sick of hearing about Roseau winning the State Championship again, quit talking about it!
