Apple Valley- 0
Edina Green- 3 (EN)
Funny thing is AV outplayed Edina.
Apple Valley had 1 line of 24-20-13 that did alot tonight for that team. Both goalies played great games for both teams. Problem was the Ref took 24 from AV to the box on a pretty bad call in the 2nd and he asked what he did wrong and the ref gave him another 10 for unsportsmanlike. Besides those ten minutes AV was in control of this game for the most part. Edina had 1 PP goal when 13 from this line was in the box and the other was when 24 was taking his 10 and then the empty netter. It gave that line troubles when they had to have someone different because it was someone who didn't like to give the puck up much and create like the 3 did well together. I would say Valley outshot them 30-20 about, just a guess. Both goalies did make some great saves though. Good season from Valley though if the ref does not give the bad call with the 10 to 24 Valley may have created more chances. Edina's goalie though was the story for them and how he won this game for them. I don't see Edina winning any games against the teams that are left though not alot cooking offensively.
PLAYERS OF GAME: Edina's goalie and 24 from AV
Edina's goalie sidenote: His dad is Don Beaupre an ex-Northstar, I would say he gets some good training

Sounds like a good game. Congrats to Edina but hate it when bad calls by refs possibly determine the outcome of a game - especially an important one in district playoffs that end a season for teams. I have to admit, I've seen more terrible officiating lately - and not just in District 6 - than I have all season. I know they have a tough job but the blatantly bad calls and losing control of games has to stop. Determining outcomes of games and risking injury to players is dangerous. I've heard they are giving penalties to coaches for asking questions too. I hope it improves as we head into the end of the season.
