Choice Mite League: Parents Review
This was a "hot" topic last Fall. Allot of opinions from all sides. With 4 weeks remaining in the season I would be interested in hearing feedback from parents that are involved in the program.
Tell us about the program?
Tell us about the coaching?
Tell us about the practices?
Tell us about your development experience, was is satisfactory?
How much ice time, too much? too little?, just right?
Would you do the program again?
Would you recommend the program to others?
Is there a difference between the Mite league and your Associations Mite Program?
Can you duplicate the Choice Mite program at the Association level?
Any fallout from your Association for leaving for a year
Lessons Learned?

The Program - There are 8 teams in the league, with 15 - 17 players on each team.boardmember wrote:This was a "hot" topic last Fall. Allot of opinions from all sides. With 4 weeks remaining in the season I would be interested in hearing feedback from parents that are involved in the program.

The Coaching - The coaches are doing a nice job. They show up every week and run the players through the practice plan. They pull the players aside and give them one on one instruction. You can really tell the players are developing there skill levels.
The Practices - The players receive about 90 hours of practice time, with each practice 1 1/2 long and 16 games. It's my understanding that each week coaches are giving a practice plan.
The Development - It is satisfactory the players have come along way since the first practice. There stonger on there edges, backwards and stick handling. The one thing that they don't teach is passing...
Recommendation: Yes, I would.
Difference between the Mite leagues: I think the overall quality of skater is a stronger at the choice league.
Duplicate - I don't see why you can't.
Fall Out - We had some at first.

thx
F2F - Thanks for the candid answers. My son would love to play in something like that.
Be kind. Rewind.
Great program second to none. There's really nothing negative to report at Minnesota made.
Its everything I expected and more.
Kids are playing with buddies.
Kids are meeting new friends.
Parents are meeting new friends.
Kids are exposed to other opportunites / coaches.
Dollar for dollar its cheaper than my local association. Pay less learn more.
Plus the kids get to skate outside and still have fun. Win, win situation.
It will be interesting to see how many mites are going to tryout for one of the teams next year? From what I hear. There will be a lot of kids trying out. I believe they plan on dividing the program up by birth year. makes sense to me.
PEACE!

Solid 16th post lowstickside. You have have some reading to do to catch up to the point of the matter.Lowstickside wrote:I'll buy you two a bar if you will get to the point. Don't you have a Myspace site you can talk on?
Myspace is for teens to post drinking pictures isn't it? My age would disqualify me.....do I still get that bar?

You don't need to post to read, and I have been reading your junk for awhile. Point; the B.S. between you two is not worth the post. Shouldn't have used "Myspace" example, users too old!tomASS wrote:Solid 16th post lowstickside. Highly recommended, the program has been top notch! From the level of play in comparison to association to the amount ice compared to the association, the coaching has been excellent etc etc etc. Absolutely would do it again.boardmember wrote:This was a "hot" topic last Fall.
