Hard for me to tell O-Town Clown. The broadcasts are so choppy I never really know what is going on. And the fact that my feed gets 30 seconds behind and people post goal in the chat window 30 seconds before I see it, that gets annoying. Then there is the camera that sometimes watches the wrong half of the ice for 45 seconds or the beautiful shot of the wall we got at STA for a good 2 minutes one game. I think it is Bart Archer that goes over the top sometimes, but mybe I haven't watched enough...

I don't think it's good to focus on the negative. Kevin is a big advocate of Minnesota hockey, like someone else mentioned. I think if Kevin could, he'd have FSN televise more HS games. So why bash a guy that loves MN HS hockey? Sometimes the complaining gets really old. I need that clip from PA and Dubay they play all the time, "All the negativity in this town really sucks!".

Okay. Your comment was about the announcing. Your complaints are mostly about the production. Big difference in my book.

Technically I think the internet broadcasts are a challenge. From the game in Duluth I've discerned that the MFH crew needs to use a wireless connection to get the feed out to the internet. If the arena has a weak signal they are dead.

The game from Cloquet was great. Strong stream throughout.

The announcing is way better than what I'd expect for HS sports. I don't think there'd be any complaints if Waggoner did play-by-play on TV games or radio. He's very good.

Thanks Rapidsfan. There seems to be 3 things that are guarantees in life:
Death, Taxes and people ripping Kevin Gorg after a HS hockey game on FSN. If you didn't enjoy watching that game last night then I suggest you find a new hobby. Also, enjoy these games now because I know you'll be bitching even more come tourney time when it's Phil Housley.

Good work, FSN, and KG!

I like Gorgy!!

I totally disagree with this topic. I enjoy Gorgy stumbling and bumbling hockey all Winter on FSN. I really like it when he laces up his skates and gets in coach mode!!!

Gorg's ok, but LP is very solid. He does his homework. Gorg can be too much and discuss goaltending more than he needs to, but I don't mind putting up with him if it means I can have a beverage and watch a great game on my couch!

If you think about it, this is true. Maybe we are lucky just to watch HS hockey and be happy?!... I mean at least we get to watch it

I don't understand you rubes this guy has forgotten more about hockey then you'll ever know! He's the most spontaneous informative hockey person on the airwaves. Not only did he play the game (and you don't win a Minnesota State High School Championship by accident) but he's been a very sucessful coach. He even makes LaPanta look good if thats possible. Gorg Rocks!

Who did he play for and who did he coach? What made him a successful coach? Why did he give it up if he was so succesful?

Not a big fan of Gorg but I'm not complaining because it's hockey! I can't get to the X or Marriuci or Braemar that much. LaPanta does a great job too! I am surprised to hear some of you complain about Nanni! Forget about his handicaps, the guy knows more about hockey then anyone!

I'll never forget Louie whinning all night about how tired he was during the DE/AV classic. C'mon Lou, the boys are out there busting their butts and we here at home are into it as well. We don't want to hear how tired U are.

It seems both announcers are scripted. 'These are the good players. This guy is this or can do this...'
They get something on both teams and that is the storyline.
No original thoughts, just make what is happening fit what they get before the game.

And then trying to explain to us what is or just happened. Guys we are watching and most of the time we see it as well or better than you.

Doing play by play and good color is harder than it looks (sounds), but it seems they try and over do it.

They must remember it is televised. Remind us or give us the stats, throw some history in or who is going to what college, but don't keep telling us, 'that's what makes Buddish so great', WE KNOW!!!

But I, as do many, appreciate the games being televised.

KG does a good job.

Broadcasting, like playing hockey at a high level, is not nearly as easy as it looks folks.

The guy obviously knows hockey and has passion.

Ease up!

Um, wasn't he between the pipes for B'ville in '85? Great team. Luckraft, Finnegan, Borrell, Bloom, Osiecki. He was a good HS goalie for sure.

I would rather listen to Gorg! than hear the the gophers announcers dont know what the heck woog is talking about half the time Frank is ok but jeff dubay is really really annoying. And would you rather have gorg or darby? So maybe gorg isn't that bad after all. Lapanta is ok but what the heck is stuck in the guys throat lol.

I would rather it be Greenlay instead of Gorg. Gorg needs to stick to handicaping horse racing.
