Lake Conference All-Conference predictions

Post by whatitdobaby »

As the season winds down, the topic of who is getting this award is in the back of some of our minds. Who gets the all-conference honors from each team?

I'll start with some obvious picks from the top 5 teams in the conference:

Barnes, Hendo- Burnsville
Leddy, Rush, Dirty Dave Meyer- Eden Prairie (might be able to throw Stypula in there)
Maloney, Fienhage, Larson- Eastview
Porter, Percy, Brown- Rosemount
O'donnell, Swansson- Jefferson

Alot of this depends on where teams finish because in the lake that gets you X number of All-Conference selections.

Does every team get one representative still? If so this is how I see it

Rosemount-Brown, Percy, Porter, McManus
Jefferson-O'Donnell
EP-Leddy, Rush, Meyer
Burnsville-Hendrickson, Barnes, Perisic
Eastview-Fienhage, Larson, Maloney, Perry
South-Yumusaklar, Hofstad
North-Johnson
AV-Weber
Eagan-Olsen
Chaska-Hand
Kennedy-Gates

its too bad its so much based on names now and not on performance as much.

Kennedy should trade their one All conference selection for two honorable mentions instead

Each team does still recieve at least one pick yes. Majority of teams recieve more I would think only at least the last 3 teams would only get one it may be less though that only get the 1 not sure how it works out exactly in hockey.

ALL LAKE CONF TEAM

Post by ExLake Player »

HERE ARE MY SELECTIONS FOR ALL LAKE CONFERENCE ---- I have seen every single team play this year with the exception of Kennedy - so he goes my opinion.

1. ROSE - G. Morgan, F. Brown, F. Percy, D. McManus
2. EP - D. Leddy, D. Rush, F. McQuillan, F. Meyer

==== For only giving up 39 goals on the season I think this team deserves atleast 2 Def. Nods in the Awards given.

3. BV - F. Barnes, F. Hendrickson, F. Perisic

=== Great line; too bad the section they will have to go through might be more difficult this year.

4. JEFF - F. O'Donnell, D. Tim Labombard
5. EV - F. Perry, F. Larson, F. Maloney and D. Gorski or Fienhage

=== As an ex EV Player I haven't seen a forward line this good since '03 when the line of Hartung, Krob, Ryan had 153 pts. This new first line can be deadly with their talent.

6. LV S. - G. Yumusaklar
7. LV N. - D. Johnson, F. Vivant
8. EAG - F. Olsen
9. CHASK - F. Hand
10. AV - F. Ekenberg
11. KEN - F. Hultgren (so.)

=== I feel like the Lake owes the Kennedy goalies something for the beating they took all year. With all the goals being scored its not new pads because they should have plenty of life in them.

When I looked at it closer I think I would rather give the other goalie slot to either the JEFF/EP Goalies ---- On a good team Morgan has given up 48 goals --- these team have only held their opponents to 39 on the year ---- For that reason I think that EP or JEFF should get the other goalie slot . . . .

What does everyone else think?

As far as I know the Lake doesn't have a first team, second team and so forth. If every team felt that there goalie was deserving of the award from their team they could all give it to them. I don't agree with the way that works. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that though.

I don't know how many each team gets, but I think if you are a top team i believe you get a few more.
Rosemount- Brown Porter Percy McManus
B'ville- Barnes Hendrickson Branson Perisic
EP- Dirty Dave Leddy Stypula
Jeff- Odonnell Lombard Swanson
Eastview- Larson Perry Maloney
South- Yuma & # 5
North- Johnson & Vivant
Eagan- Olson
Chaska- Hand
AV- Velin
Kennedy- Hultgren

Plucinak should be Chaska's choice for All Conference, not Hand. Just my opinion.

i think that feinhage is overated. Also, i dont see eastview finishing high enough to have enough room for him. i see them getting maybe 5th in the lake which means they wouldnt get to represent 4 all conference players. the 3 they will get to represent in my opinion will be there first line forwards, they have done it for them all year long

You have to remember though it is their coach that picks the players that he wants on All-Conf. and HM. If he likes Finehage he will give it to him even though I agree he is a little overrated.

I've been to pretty much every Rosemount game this year, obviously to see my friends play. The Irish are a good team, but they are very offensive minded. The defense tends to struggle a bit, which is why morgan has given up 48 goals, also he has played 17 games. Jefferson's and EP's goalies have been splitting throughout the season

Its kind of disappointing to see all conference picked more by reputation and name rather than performance during the season.

It all looks pretty good, except if eckenberg is little #7 then i disagree. . . All i saw him do in 2 games was fall down.

It seems like you have an awful lot to say about Morgan in every post you make; I think that other guy was saying their teams only gave up a total of 39 goals while morgan has given up 48 in less games than their teams have played. That would make him mostlikely an honorable mention unless the coach wants to throw one in if they only get 4 picks.

If you're trying to imply that I may be Mike, you're wrong. None of the Rosemount players are allowed on this forum, and I've only mentioned him in about 4 or 5 posts. I'm sorry I have an opinion about my friend. The EP defense is stronger than Rosemount's, which is why they have only given up 39 goals in however many games they've played.

If you look at who I put for All-conference(first post of thread), I didn't even mention Morgan, but I did mention Stypula...

I do know the coaches get to pick. I've seen everybody in the lake play at least twice, and from what I have seen these where just the kids that i thought would be deserving of all conference. I am sure there will be many left off my list.

If UND SCSU and Wisconsin recruit you, you are not overrated. Sorry the scouts these days are really good and I trust their judgment.
