Short Handed vs Empty Netter goal
Is there a major difference. In short handed your 4 on 5. Empty Netter your 6 on 5 in most cases - Obviously there is no goalie in Empty netter. But why do we make a big deal out of pointing that out. A goal is a goal.

Superstar, do you feel your D6 Championship was tarnished somehow because Edina had to pull there goalie in a tie game and you won on an empty netter?
How about the fact that Fair Play Points dictated Edina's decision, the flip side is without the fair play system E.P. would have needed to win the game, as a tie would have done you guys no good, would you have pulled the goalie?
You guys had a good season and that's what it came down to. Saying a team won a game 2-1 gives a person one look, but when you add in the fact Edina pulled the goalie because they needed the win and E.P. scored an empty netter to win it provides a different view. It is an insight into how the game played out.
Congratulations on winning the D6 title!
The D6 playoffs are going to be a fun won to watch playout, I foresee a few overtime games coming from these teams.

Ron - By no means do I feel that at all. Thanks for the congratulations- It all goes to the boys and coaches. I had nothing to do with it - besides cheering. The tricky part is keeping it going....
I agree that it is a insight to how a game is played and how the stats are kept (something I didn't know until now)
It was actually a thought I just had. Sometimes I see teams pulling thier goalie during a Power Play situation (ie 2 mins left in a game). It could even be a 6-3 situation and it seems harder to have score - even though there isn't a goalie - So is that a shorthanded & a EN goal? Or just a goal? Please advise
FYI - I hate the Happy Points

Short Hand vs Empty Net
I understood prior to the Edina/EP Pee Wee A game last night that EP had a 1 point lead over Edina in the standings and since EP had beaten Edina earlier in the year, Edina had to beat EP to win the district title. It was my understanding that since both teams were going to get their happy points, Edina had to beat EP. A tie would not have done any good. I alos understand it was a well played game with good goal tending on both ends. With districts and regionals approaching, odds are these teams will face each other with a lot more on the line!!
Nahc - Thanks for that. Maybe thier should be a seperate post for last nights game.
But my post has nothing to do with last nights game - It was a awesome game by both clubs - goaltenders and players - I don't disagree.
It's a more general comment on short handed vs EN.
Sorno explained it very clearly to me - I didn't know that is was more for stats purpose - thats the answer I was looking for.
Once again - IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LAST NIGHTS GAME.
