I thought Jared Festler came pretty close last year to the state scoring record? I'm I wrong?

I was looking over some of those records, some are pretty amazing, although I know some are probable incorrect as well, the most goals in a game at 17, I remeber Int'l Falls beat Ely 17-1 back in the 80's so that would be 18, and also make the most goals by one team of 16 as wrong as well. Anybody else remeber that.......

I seem to recall Chisholm/Cook putting the screws to Ely to the tune of 22-0 back in 1991.

Another record that is no longer accurate is the fewest stops by Ron Drobnick, Eveleth, 1945. Jacob Meyers from Benilde had zero against St. Francis this year.

There are a few others that I would dispute as well.

Or a few years ago... Moorhead over Monticello 27-0. Made national news.

Just wondering but what would cause a coach to pack it on so thick...?

Dug up a couple more drubbings that match or exceed that record.

1991 Virginia/MI-B/Cherry 16, Ely/Babbitt-Embarrass 1
1997 Thief River Falls 24, Indus 0
2004 Centennial 20, Rogers/Zimmerman 0
1995? Duluth East 21, Duluth Marshall 0

Most of those records are State Tournament records. Only the ones at the top are season/career records.

The 17 is the most goals scored in a State Tournament game.

Actually, no its not. This is listed in the top section before the State Tournament records under the plain "Game" -->"Team" heading:

Goals – One Team
16 Eveleth, 1945

Goals – Two Teams
17 Roseau (9) vs. Burnsville (8), 1984

The State Tournament listings start a little farther down and have the exact same games listed as records.

Jared Festler is the all-time scorer. The big time programs don't want to hear it.

Probably at least 70 points for just one season as Scott Bjugstad racked up a lot of points in just in his senior year in 1979.

ya i believe he scored his 81st and 82nd goals last night which passed Scott Bjugstad who had 80. He also has 157 points which is also a record the previous record was somethin like 147. Great player great kid very underrated, unfortunate that he doesn't play for a higher class team.

John Pohl from Red Wing 144G, 234A, for 378 pts! Not a bad high school career!
