How good really is Edina?
State worthy?
Lets here what you think.

Edina is a great team, with one of the toughest schedules in the state. The team is getting worn out but still winning. With one loss alrady, they may be last years holy angels in their section.(losing to Rosemount or Burnsville)

Roseau might be the only team that has a better shot at the state title.

They are arguably the best team in the state. I think that might make them state worthy.

if you can't be ready and "show up to play" during sectional time then your not a team worthy of the trip. I very much doubt this consideration will even be a factor. Regular season is a good time to get the blips and distractions out of the way. Regular season is the right time to learn that your not invincible

Hornets

If they play like they did last night, a 9-0 thrashing of CDH, then no one is going to stop them.

It is gonna take one h#ll of a team effort with solid goaltending to beat this team....

Good job. We need to keep saying they're unbeatable. Roseau too!

Thats the ticket!

Roseau is defending champ with no losses, so they get #1. Edina is solidly #2 and may or may not be better then Roseau. Edina has a much tougher section, but I don't see who is going to stop them... These two teams are a good head above everyone else in the state. After that, there is a group of about 5-8 teams that all can beat or lose to each other.

I think I would agree with this, but I'll add that those 5-8 teams are good enough, if they are on top of their game, to force the top two to be on top of theirs. All in all, I expect a lot of excitement come playoff time!

That is why I posted this. I know they are in different sections. Remember AHA plays in the section with Edina. I am calling it here. If AHA plays Edina in the semis, AHA is the only team in this section that has the chance to beat the Hornets.....

Zamman I hope you are right. Wouldn't be wonderful watching the Reillys daggling around Lee or Budish for the game winner. Little bit of a size difference. I would never count out AHA, they do have the best player in the state, and he is only a jr. Need to settle on Boerger and roll with it.

Oops. Sorry I didn't pick up on that.

And, bold prediction...

i agree, bold prediction...also im not sure if the "best player in the state" is on aha's roster like you claim...theres a pretty solid defenseman in roseau that a lot of people would agree holds that distinction as of now

I say put them on the cover of Sports Illustrated and jinx them for sure. Kidding aside, they are about 15 and ONE. My money after all the hype is they stumble on the way to or at the big dance. They've got one tough section.
