I am going to try...

Post by boblee »

It seems to me like LPH is getting close, but still not there. I am going to take a shot at my own AA rankings. I will be very open to feedback and criticism. I know I haven't seen every team, but here is my offer....

LPH Rankings in parenthesis:

1. Roseville (1)
2. Stillwater (2)
3. Eden Prairie (3)
4. Grand Rapids/Greenway (4)
5. Edina (7)
6. Hopkins (5)
7. Holy Angels (6)
8. Duluth (15)
9. Wayzata ( 8 )
10. Proctor/Hermantown/Marshall (NR)
11. Eagan (9)
12. Cloquet (16)
13. Blaine (14)
14. Benilde-St. Margaret's (13)
15. Irondale (12)
16. Hill-Murray ( 18 )
17. White Bear Lake (20)
18. Centennial (11)
19. Elk River (10)
20. Hastings (NR)

I know that this jumbles everything even more...but I was just wondering what people thought. I know I will catch grief about ER and Cent. Well, critique...

Not bad not bad at all. Tough to argue with. Blaine has picked up their play as of late but should not be ranked higher then WBL or Hill. Actually Centennial has not really shown anything to justify a higher ranking, partly because they haven’t beat anyone of any significance since their first game. With all due respect to Roseville and Stillwater (they defiantly disserve the high ranking) it’s just that after watching EP play I have a hard time putting anyone ahead of them. Time will tell, time will tell.

I will try to justify...

Roseville: They have beaten #2, #3, and #4 in their most recent meetings against each other.

Blaine: I look at the way they played in the Edina Holiday Tournament compared to Hill-Murray. Plus, big win over ER. But, you may be right. WBL is coming on strong, but need to stay consistent now. You may be on to something.

Need to put a space between a parenthesis and the number 8 or the system interprets it as an emoticon, i.e. > 8)

Why is BSM rated behind Duluth, Wayzata, Cloquet & Blaine? They beat each of these teams handily
4-1 over Duluth
5-0 over Wayzata
3-0 over Cloquet
7-2 over Blaine
I realize they had a terrible Edina tourney but what gives?

BSM has really picked it up since the Edina Tournament, when missing key players, dumb penalties, and missed opportunties all led to three consecutive defeats. But since then they've outscored their last four conference opponents by a combined score of 27-2, including a 3-0 win over Irondale. They have made some lineup changes, have all of their key players back and are now running on all cylinders.

It isn't all about head to head, but you make good arguments. I will have an updated set tomorrow after a lot of games today.

My AA try for 1/24/2008

1. Roseville (1)
2. Eden Prairie (2)
3. Grand Rapids/Greenway (3)
4. Stillwater (4)
5. Edina (6)
6. Hopkins (5)
7. Duluth (not top 15)
8. Wayzata ( 8 )
9. Holy Angels (7)
10. Cloquet (15)
11. White Bear Lake (10)
12. Centennial (12)
13. Irondale (9)
14. Benilde-St. Margaret's (13)
15. Proctor/Hermantown/Marshall (14)
16. Hill-Murray (not in top 15)
17. Elk River (not in top 15)
18. Eagan (not in top 15)
19. Hastings (not in top 15)
20. Moorhead (NR)

I am trying to put some of the hotter teams towards the top more. Also, trying to factor in SOS. I have even seen some issues with it myself, but I think hotter teams need to move north at this time of year. Criticism time.

I had serious thought about tossing them at 20 rather than Moorhead. I am sure they'll make their way back in with at least tow big games left (Moorhead and Cloquet).

They beat Moorhead two weeks ago 4 - 2, without Sara E.

Not that any rankings really matter, but just trying to help you out with gathering the data.

I have pretty good tabs on Moorhead. I am in the area and I know one of the coaches pretty well. They are a streaky club. Similar to Bemidji actually.
