Aaron Ness a man amongst Boys?

i dont care what people say ness is a great player (the real deal) ive watched hockey for years and i can see hype and reality. kilpatrick was hype fornie or however you spell it from trf was all hype ness is flat out good. he will need a year to adjust to the college level and after that he will dominate. oh and as far as last night goes he was by far the best player on the ice it wasnt even close.

I am not defending Roseau's holiday tourney schedule, but I think, no matter who he is playing against, you will see Ness is a very talented player. I am starting to find it laughable the way people read things on here and then jump on the bandwagon, especially ripping on Roseau's schedule and playing Farmington. St. Thomas Academy and Hill Murray to look at 2 teams computer ranked higher than the Rams, both play 9 games on their schedule against teams ranked about the same or lower than Farmington, yet no one mentions that. Ness is the type of player that comes from an area every once in awhile and he usually puts up huge numbers against weaker teams and good numbers against better teams. He is not the type of player who only shows up against the also rans!

It must be when a team is ranked in the top ten, everyone picks apart there schedules, lines and findes something to pick them apart. All I know is this is a heck of a team all around with a great goal tender and going to watch them play is really a treat. I believe every chance a person gets you should go watch Ness, on defense Lee In net and the top line of Landman Moser and Nelson, It is not often that we are treated to such talent. Hats of to Carson and the Volenteers for the North Rink, Where the Tradition Starts.

How do you figure he spent a good portion of the warroad game on the ice.
I think #9 Adam Knochenmus is the most underrated player this year. If he seen the ice time that nelson has he would be in the top 3 for points this year for Roseau.

Listening to the guys on FSN, they said that he was finishing his senior year while being a freshman at the U. I was just wondering if that is true. If it is, that is quite a load while playing hockey. I dont think he is going to do as good as many people think. But my opinion is only based on one game i saw him play. But i just think it is going to be a big change for him, one he may not be able to handle right away.

FSN didn't say it that way. To clarify for you...he is a junior, taking senior classes as well so he can graduate early and go down to the Gophers.

Then why don't you wait and see him more than one game before you say he won't do well.

You might want to check the Rams' team stats. I think Nelson is right there. Number two even if my public school math is correct.

Assists: A. Ness 23 - B. Nelson 22
Points: A. Ness 38 - B. Nelson 32

The way I see it, the biggest differences between Ness and Ballard are about 50 miles, 7 years, 2 inches and 40 lbs. The 40 miles and 7 yrs are meaningless but the 2 inches and 40 lbs. aren't. If Ness doesn't grow, he may put up more points and play more games at the U, but he won't make it to 192 games in the NHL. Ness' career will be a great one but it will look more like Olimb's than Ballard's.

Ness will be fine in the NHL after a couple of years with the Gophs. It would be better for him if he was a bit bigger. NHL takes talent and size and its hard to find kids as talented as Ness also he still may grow a couple inches. Not every one is blessed with the same attributes its what you do with what you have!

Nelson gets plenty of ice time....Knochenmus is getting the ice time....he needs to stop skating into checks all the time- he's bound to get knocked out again at that rate, but i like the kid's grit!

hootie10 you are a fine example of people coming on here that cant see talent in a hockey player. he is without a doubt one of the best players i have seen in years at the high school level. if kids can leave high school and go play d1 (which many do) he will have no problem what so ever.

warroad looked so-so at best and ness is racking up points against some teams that would get beat by edinas jv.
do you guys think this hurts his mr hockey stock? i heard the pro scouts have a lot of say and if you were a pro scout from mpls would you drive up to roseau to see how ness handles the relentless forecheck of the farmington tigers?

No. Mr. Hockey is for seniors, not juniors.

He may be eligable this year because of his status graduating early or something....not sure how that is coming along...

According to Roseau fans, at the end of the semester (this week or next) he will have accumulated enough credits where he will begin the second semester with senior status. Should allow him to be eligible for MR. HOCKEY, although I would imagine the selection committee will have to decide if that fits their guidelines.

Thanks for the clarification. I obviously misunderstood...and my opinion saying that he wasnt going to do well was based off of the assumption that he was taking his senior classes with a freshman college load. And i would love to see him play more, but thats a lot of traveling for me and would rather wait til they make it to the big show.

The ISS has Ness as the highest rated player in the state (24th overall), even ahead of Toews at SSM....That's fantastic! I can't imagine he will do anything other than keep progressing up the draft board projection.

I read in the Mpls. paper Jake Gardiner was the highest ranked Mn. player. No mention of Ness?
